In league 1 playing for the club he supports earning more money than here

Granted .... But we could probably sell most of the squad, if we based our club policy on that reasoning alone .... we would never achieve anything as a club with no aspirations other than the players' best interests.

well out of 18 senior players I guess CB is the one with most cover - the rest we can just about cover with the starting 11.

Good job we signed the sponge with a degree, were going to need an injury free season

I don't blame DA one iota for taking control of the spending although the faith he's shown in some individuals has proved questionable. What you've got to laugh at, is the success we experienced last season was put down to the double training sessions, etc, now Cook's on record as saying that he's cut the training back because of the small squad!

I hope this season doesn't end in disaster.

somehow he will have to keep everyone of them injury free or else the first one in the ground gets a place on the bench

I am looking forward to seeing a Cook interview again, to see how his mood is. I wonder if he is any happier?

He might be smiling if there's a clause in his contract whereby he benefits from players being sold for a profit!

lol ! .... I doubt very much he will be any happier, knowing he might soon be making plans for life without one of his key defenders .... Yes, it will be interesting to see his reaction .... and just imagine if Cooper DID leave and DA decided not to release any extra funds for the squad !

I always suspected that there was one in Sheridan's contract, given his timely departure days before Villa's interest in Bowery was made public!

No, he had to get a grip on run away spending - and the seemingly oblivious attitude to it shown by some is a little strange. Maybe its a case of if he admits CT got it wrong, then he admits DA got it wrong?

Its not started well!! The depth of the squad is a little worrying.

I suspect they made a loss in DA's mind, hence the stress CT put on them in his recent interviews

I think it's unlikely we'll see any of the fee we get for Cooper reinvested in the team

DA regularly refers to that time when Accrington came to play us on that Tuesday night and supposedly played us off the park - if PC can do that on possibly the smallest budget in the league with a very small squad and other limited resources, then why can't he do that with us in league one? One key thing that we have to remember about that night is that CFC won that match - not Accrington Stanley.

PC is a good manager and if he does indeed have a good start, he won't be with us for much longer - and to be honest I wouldn't blame him for jumping ship with the lack of backing he's had financially in this transfer window. If he can't reinvest in the squad, then DAs statement of not repeating the same mistakes of the last league one season will truly come back to haunt him.

Being a Chesterfield fan is fun isn't it?.....

But DA stated any transfer fees received would be split 50/50 on debt and towards the playing squad. I hope he wouldn't back track on this statement.
Here we go again!

neither of the concerts made a loss, just not as much profit as Dave Allen hoped for. If you're gonna be doom and gloomy at least get your facts straight.

We'll never know. If a deal goes through, I suspect the fee will be undisclosed.
