Wonder what is happening on Southampton's message board at the moment? Apparently the last player out is to switch the lights out.

I have friends that support Southampton and they're suicidal

I wonder if that feeling will be mirrored on here in the next week or so

The worry is that Cook will get absolutely nothing of it to improve a squad that will have got significantly weaker with Cooper's departure.

It's gonna take a big offer to prize him away I hope. Cook will replace and add depth.

Glad I didn't lay £5k on higdon now :-)

After "freezing" the budget Cook will need the bulk the profit

He needs to replace Cooper for a start.

Wonder if you know who is available now that Fleetwood are moving onwards and upwards

I think we both know that won't happen. I personally wouldn't expect to see a direct replacement for Cooper. Rather the padding out of the squad with the likes of Boco & Featherstone and Cook told to get on with it.

47 years and it doesn't get easier

Anyway why is it negative to suggest selling Cooper is not the great idea most on here seem to think it is?

You are also addressing someone who proposes serious fund raising ideas.

If that is your idea of being negative, well...............................

True

But we will most likely need one before the season is out

Cos he ain't very clever, or maybe it was a ploy to invite clubs with money to spend to come in and raid our squad

To stick my twopence worth in, if he does go, and listening to the grapevine and our current wage bill issues it's probably going to happen, I'd be amazed at anything over £400k.

If hull have a 35% sell on clause, by the time we've paid some debts there won't be much left to add to the squad

I'm really suprised this is the first "public" type news of a club making an offer on one of our players... Given the nature of the budget freeze and the desire/need to strengthen the squad it'll be interesting to see where any transfer fee goes..

I wonder if this sell-on clause is just something that's been stated so often it's become fact.

I have a horrible feeling this is the thin end of the wedge. If he goes DA will in my opinion not stop there. I have a gut feeling that the squad could be ripped apart in a similar way to N Lee when the FA cup squad was systematically destroyed. Really hope I am wrong. Very worried

Talking in general re your posts specifically around and post Higdon. For someone who's been through the recent "down" periods and will have unpleasant memories back to the Mcshane days, you would appreciate the position we now find ourselves (just about as good as any over them 50 something years) and that maybe generating to many unnecessary bad vibes could influence the more gullible on here

Whilst acknowledging mistakes have been made, I prefer to take the stance that these guys have previously done a very good job and trust that they learn from their mistakes and take them on board and duly progress.

The pitch thing, a very good idea and one that should be followed up

This season already had a bad feel about it, now we're selling off first teamers. Bodes ill...

I just hope we get a good wedge for him
