Would prefer slightly more comfortable than needing 19 off the last over but great win none the less.

bit cold & wet but great company, fantastic last over victory & bit of light hearted banter between the fans.
as the song goes 'all town arent we'

bit of a bobs board meet up & walton in the flesh is alright.

Always a good time to put the puddings in their place again

Micky Arthur is installing a good ethic in this team because there is no way we would have won that match last season

Also pleasing for someone else other than Masood to see us over the line

did not like the High Oh Silver Lining track played over the speakers

being hijacked by the Wendies fans in the Park though

Alls well that ends well lol

I dipped in and out in the steam as well whilst doing other stuff. Derbyshire put out on social media they had 450,000 views on the stream.

From a Yorkshire perspective. I think once it was rain affected, Derbyshire were always favourites to win. It’s a lot easier to chase when you have wickets in hand. Even so with 19 needed off the last I thought Yorkshire would have been favourites but with a six off the first ball, I knew than it was over.

The D/L calculation builds that in. The powerplay was only 3 overs and we were 5/0 off 2 balls so the target was absolutely as it should have been. If Yorkshire had wanted a higher target they should have scored more runs. I think we'd have strolled to the 20 over target anyway. That bowler of the last over wouldn't look good in 3N of the County League, absolute garbage. If he'd bowled 2 more at LDP, they'd have likely gone for 6 too.

May be sooner than that. Derbyshire sent me a 50% off voucher for the Yorkshire 50overs in August.

I hadn't looked at the fixtures. Sunday 21st is now pencilled in on the calendar!

Just checked my emails and I've been sent the discount code. Which is YORKS50 for anyone else buying online....means the price is only £7.50. Great value for a full day out!

Sorry I seem to have messed up with my last reply???
Regarding D/L I’m not suggesting Derbyshires target was too low but any team chasing has a huge advantage. It was avery good toss to win yesterday as it was always going to be rain affected.
As for whether Derbyshire would have scored 176 in 20 overs?? Who knows, I certainly don’t think it would have been a stroll as West Bars suggested.
I do think Yorkshire should have scored an absolute minimum of 190 though.

They're at a 'huge advantage' because you think D/L doesn't adjust it high enough?

I think every other county would have most probably knocked that total off. 10 overs where you can swing the bat more freely knowing it’s unlikely you are going to lose all your wickets. As I’ve said I don’t have an issue with the total set, I mean I’ve no idea how the dl method works and I guess most people don’t either. If the roles were reversed I’m sure Yorkshire would have knocked off that total, especially when we have the likes of Lyth, TKC and Brook at the top of the order.
Forgetting it was Yorkshire v Derbyshire for one minute, do you not think that dl favours the team batting second?
Anyway Yorkshire can look to exact their revenge when we meet again at Queen’s Park in August 🙂

D/L is a mathematic formula, entirely emotionless and applied in exactly the same way the world over.

Unless there’s some statistical evidence of D/L adjusted targets being achieved more often than those that aren’t I’m going to go with no.

Meanwhile, looks like Derbyshire are going to cruise to victory over Warwicks/Birmingham Bears (don't know why they're the only county that change their name for the T20) 49 needed from 7&1/2 overs with Masood & Madsen in.
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

Weird how you mentioned DL calculation as I was scratching my head at it. Yorkshire went at what 8.5 an over maybe yet the Derbyshire chase was almost 10 an over so I was thinking it was unfair. But that is coming from someone with no idea how it is calculated.

50% for the One Dayer is a great offer, going to make that one if I can!
