And no disrespect to the guy but does that sum up the issue with loanees - he takes positives from it because HE came for game time and that is what HE got.

He should also remember that his game time was for the worst team in the football league...

Or, you could give the kid a break because without him we would have been dead and buried a damn sight sooner than we have. He's never hidden away, even though he's has bad games and runs of form whilst in the team.

The reason we need loan players is because our squad is neither big enough nor good enough in the first place. Ideally, loanees should give you something you don't already have, and that's what Louis did or he wouldn't have played 30-something games for us, right? Imagine if we didn't take him; then you can moan that we don't have enough centre-mids and need a loan signing because of square pegs being in round holes.

He was here because we needed him and he couldn't play that many games at his parent club. His attitude has never been in question. He was better than anything we had; that is the indictment, here.

Didn't query whether he was better or worse - just when asked about it the answer was about him and not the club he was playing for. Sure he could have been quoted out of context too but it just struck me on reading that there was no mention of the returns for the club from his time...

Let's remember Reed was only here because the Brooks deal, prematurely celebrated by Carson, joined the long list of screw-ups...

The answer to what the club got out of it is the last 2 paragraphs of my previous response.

No he didn't, he came to Chesterfield of his own accord, nothing to do with the Brooks deal!
He chose Chesterfield over a move to Holland

So it was a coincidence that we failed to obtain a Sheffield United player after our company secretary forgot to sign some papers and so to avoid unnecessary media outrage, we somehow get a different Sheffield United player. Ok.

What genuinely was the case with the Brooks deal, was it that Sheffield Utd pulled the plug after he had a stunning Euros and they were perfectly entitled to renege on the move or did we genuinely not sign available documents that would have made the move, until January at least, binding?
This is a genuine question, because I honestly don't know what really happened.

We wouldn't have signed him had the other deal happened.

Stick as a player for another season for me.
Other stronger candidates in the mix apparently, and we need a Evo beast for next season.

I think that's a fair point.

Did you actually listen to the video clip? He emphasised several times how sorry he was at the final outcome for the CLUB, and he also mentioned the support he had from the likes of Hird and Evo. The reporter asked him what benefits he personally had gained from his loan spell so of course he had to reply to the question. I think you're comments are unfair on a player who provided us with consistently good performances and showed respect for CFC.

Ashley worked on the deal on our club's behalf. That's all that happened.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.
