The lows for me can best be summed up by three simple images: an unkempt and unshaven Freddie Flintoff apologising for the "Fredalo" incident during the cricket World Cup where we stank; a coiffured Steve McLaren cutting a pathetic and powerless figure as he sheltered under his brolly during our final exit from Euro 2008 and, last but by no means least, after limp, lame home defeats to Brighton (six straight defeats before turning up at Saltergate) and Bournemouth (no away wins for over a year prior to their visit to the Rec.) all we heard from our Board was the headline "April will be a month of celebration" in the DT. At that point i realised that the Directors Box must've once again become some sort of Cloud Cuckoo Land and it's occupants fully fledged inhabitants of that realm. Well, either that or they thought/think the average Town fan is some sort of gullible half-wit.
As for highs, they're pretty few and far between. I guess six points off our little yellow neighbours was quite pleasurable, but the sad fact is that's no real achievement nowadays. The signings (and form) of Lester, Ward and, perhaps to a lesser degree, Steve Fletcher also put a smile on the face, not to mention the promise shown by Jamie Lowry. On a wider scale the performance of the England team at the rugby World Cup showed what spirit and sheer hard work can achieve and mentions must also be given to the likes of Calzhagi (his boxing's better than my spelling), Hatton and Hamilton (blimey, i'm beginning to sound like Lineker at the Sportsman of the Year awards!).
Errr, that's about it.
So over to you lot - have i missed anything?
