People putting tickets in a basket and then not going through with the purchase so the tickets are not available until they time out is pretty common on most systems. Remember a big fuss when the Leadmill were selling tickets for a Def Leppard gig last year, loads of complaints from people that it had sold out pretty much the second they went on sale and then more showed up later on. Leadmill sent out numerous tweets about the fact that people were hoovering up tickets but then not actually purchasing so it then had to wait for them purchase to time out at which point they became available. Numerous people replied advising how they had managed to get tickets by hanging on a bit.

On our system they become available again after 20mins i think it is if not purchased. The issue is someone may potentially be buying loads and providing they have their friends\Family linking set up properly it will be fine to go through. Not sure how you draw the line on how many you allow folk to buy. If someone has volunteered to be the person that gets tickets for a big group and has all the season tickets linked to their accounts then it will be a valid transaction. It wont check it can do this until after you have selected tickets and added them to the basket at which point you then allocate them.
