It just goes to show just how influential he really is to our team. My MOTM today because he tore Fleetwoods defence a new one.

Ive been saying that for over a month - while everyone was bellyaching and crying about how much we miss Doyle, I said it was Robbo that the man we missed.

Did Mr Cook think that the other player would've been a lesser skilled, more reliable option? Or could it've been a more skilled player?
Was it Welsh?

As lucky as we are to have Gary, I have to say Welsh is a cracking little footballer. (I'd have Robbo over him though, like).
Everytime I've seen him play for Preston on TV etc he's looked a real menace.
Would have been great to have them both, although Robbo is the one with the goals in him.

Pure class. A great character and he clearly loves playing for the club. It will be a sad day when he leaves us i'm sure!

He is the reason we must never play hoofball. Why would you want to cut him out of your attacks? Suicide.

Difficult to say that we'll not miss a player with 25 goals by the end of January.
Both Roberts & Doyle have been excellent players for us and they had a great understanding together.
When we play the preferred Cook way as we did Saturday, then Roberts is the "heartbeat" and Doyle was the "head". With players like Morsey, Ryan etc behind you and TD running down the full length of the pitch like he owns it, then the "heartbeat" can work to it's strengths which are run, push, probe, pass and attack - when Roberts is on fire then we are less dependent on having a finisher of Doyle's quality.
