Cook tells me he is not looking to bring in any loan signings in near future as says he owes his own players chance to shine #chesterfieldfc

We'll have to make do and end until then and Margreitter, Hird and Talbot are all back quickly
Love your own?
OK if you have them in the right positions. Find our transfer policy strangely inconsistent, seems to change depending which way the winds blowing

Agreed, it was only the other week our squad was unbalanced and according to Cook... That can't be right and he'd be doing his utmost to correct this.
So are we saying our squad has become more balanced now we've more injuries and on loan players that have now returned to their parent clubs?

And what is he supposed to do if he's been told to 'get on with it, you have a budget to work to'? I hardly think he has decided the best thing to do is 'muddle through' and if 'muddling through' is what he has done so far in his time with us then carry on Paul.

The only possible sound reasoning, surely?? Though if this is true, why did PC upset the applecart and make several statements that he was going to address the balance when he knew he couldn't do much about it? It's all little weird what's happening with the internal politics at the moment.

What's your point? That he's been told he can't sign someone?

First of all thanks once again for these snippets, 'V'.
I don't do twitter so such posts are an interesting insight.
As for Cook's "love our own" comment, the context is unclear. Does he mean that he should have more faith in the squad he's assembled? The squad he described as 'unbalanced' when everyone else thought we were doing reasonably well?
A clear contradiction if so.
Or is he somehow criticising the fans for questioning Goburn's inclusion? For the disquiet that stemmed from him dropping the in-form Johnson (who the fans really did "love"), splitting the successful Morsy/Ryan partnership (ditto), and crowbarring the Huddersfield lad (hardly one of 'our own') into the side?
Well I make no apology for pointing out how results went down the pan because of his tinkering.
Cook's a popular manager, but he does himself no favours by such comments.

About the increases, yeah they will probably go up and people will draw the line somewhere. For me it's become a hobby where you don't get full value for money. The odd £20 a season won't really make much of a difference to most, but it's the principle.

But playing one up top what's the option?
It's no good trying to bring in quality up front when he would probably start on the bench, we saw the issue last season with two recognised forwards challenging for one starting place, neither Doyle or RIchards got settled in the starting line up. If Doyle did get injured im sure Clucas could do the job..so think before clamouring for that striker on loan!

I agree. It's as though there's been some kind of fallout which he refuses to clarify and which has had consequencs, so he's prevaricating.
Any road up, onwards and upwards. Today is huge. We'll see if the cup result has restored confidence because we'll need it. Barnsley have now overtaken us, creating a 2 point gap. There's a 5 point gap separating us from 9th yet only 5 points separating us from the relegation zone.
