Watched Luton v Blackpool 2nd leg play off semi final that finished 5-6 on agg they play Exeter city at Wembley for the play off final end of May. He came on and lutons defenders couldn't handle him his presence up front totally changed the game and got there goal to get them level before they went on and won. The crowd wound him up by keeping the ball from him so when he scored he shut them up by levelling the score on agg. I think we should have kept him got at least another season the one before last out of him rather than loaning him out then eventually letting him go he could of done a job off the bench and he had a good relationship with our fans. "Big Dave" as he was known by the fans. His goalscoring rate let's him down and he is better suited as an impact player and proved that by changing the game and causing the luton defence problems. Who would see him back at the proact?

I'd have him back but then again I wouldn't have got rid of him in the first place

Armband would have been far more use to us than either simons or Ebanks Blake.
As long as we didn't use him as a target man.

Not too sure why we did get rid of him as options up front are always a plus and he did have an eye for goal but I think when Saunders came in he had his own ideas as does every manager but ultimately Saunders was clueless anyway...

I agree 110% about that, however he was quite effective in that role tonight. He seems to have bulked up a bit

He does seem to be a bit part player there, like he was for us but he is lower in the pecking order to a couple of relatively "big" names

I agree entirely Simons and SEB imo are no better strikers...

Know as 'Big Dave' by about three unoriginal bores.

He was funny, had a few good games when the planets aligned but for the most part was very poor. Not a good scoring record and has done nothing to right that since. Quite funny that he could be in League 1 next season whilst we're in League 2, however. Agree that SEB and Simons are worse players.

Am I right in thinking he got racial abuse one year at Port Vale then on the home game against them he got even more....
When he scored in front of them and celebrated I was bouncing

Yes, very poor decision to play that useless loanee from Derby instead.

Let be right about Armand...he was a character who on his day was a nuisance to defenders due to his size and some ability. The issue was that these days didnt happen all that often. If you took the time to search through this forum about him a lot of folk didnt rate him and not many were that bothered when we shipped him out. In fact a lot werent that happy he got a new contract with us when it happened.

Its a bit of a the Warfey theory that a bit tall striker has a good game and he should be signed...just this time we know all about Armand and we know we really shouldnt be. He probably could have done a better job for us last season than many that turned out but that just shows how far we fell last season not how good Armand is.

It's just about the standard he's at. He is effective more often at L2 level than he was at L1 level. Just like Raglan, Gardner, Banks and loads of others. I thought overall we gave him a fair chance to make the grade.

Armand was so entertaining to watch, you never knew what he was going to do. Will always remember his goal at Pompey.

Exactly, hugely limited footballer that played for Armand FC rather than CFC, it's amazing how many ex-cfc footballers become better players when they aren't with us anymore isn't it? As if they magically become Pele.

Decent enough player- hope he gets on at Wembley this time.
Suffered loads of abuse (on here) when he was a Town player

I'd have him back.
I like characters in football and he provided entertainment (good and bad points) but the size and his awkwardness can cause opposition to think 'WTF'. He can be a real pest, a handful, a target man and chip in with goals.

He was decent. He'd have one game in half a dozen where he'd shine. His problem was awareness and positioning. He would often not be able to interpret Gary Roberts play often rather hilariously/frustratingly he'd run away from where the ball was. That was his problem.
