After hardly signing any new players in the summer who would have thought we would be 3 points off the play offs in December.im not getting too carried away but I must say what a great job Paul Cook and his staff are doing and hope he stays at this club for a very long time.

Cooky and his Team have given us our best football since the Cox era, and at times we've bettered that.I hope The Club can get sorted out financially and give Cooky the backing he needs to turn us into contenders for the Championship.Long may he reign at the Proact.

He deserves a huge amount of credit considering the level of resources he has available. What struck me on Saturday was the fact that while PC was struggling to field one striker, his opposite number played four (or was it five?) in that one game.

Cook is struggling to field strikers because he hasn't brought any to the club. That's his responsibility no one else's. Every player we bring in is a player that likes to play in the hole being a striker.

Any? Who brought in Eoin Doyle? Armand?

Ok, none brought in since cash has got much tighter, but in such circumstances give me a Sam Clucas signing over an out and out striker any time. He can play left back, left midfield, left wing or striker. Whereas a Mark Richards type would have to win his place over Doyle, or be content to sit on the bench and wait for an injury or dramatic loss of form.

I think he originally brought in Doyle to play wide as he had been doing in Scotland prior to us signing him? Did he bring in Armand to replace Boden I can't remember?
He certainly didn't bring Clucas in to cover left back as he had never played there for mansfield I think we just found that out from necessity.
Cook has done well but for me we have an unbalanced squad with too many players wanting the same position behind a striker with a very limited back up option. Personally when able to do so Id prefer to see Clucas up front to Armand

Armand is here for a reason and that will be low wages the system we use means a back up striker gets little game time so the option of a low cost striker is the only one, nevertheless if the players inbehind start chipping in its a great system and if ryan and morsy start scoring as well then its playoffs
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Nanndo wasn't brilliant at Gills.but he was a nuisance to their cbs and created room for our midfielders which brought us 3goals and 3 pts which were fully deserved
