I have to say, seeing the amazing crowd funding gesture is nothing short of amazing.

This current Chesterfield squad hasn’t experienced what amazing incredible support they will get when positivity & success comes along.

Remember nearly 3 thousand away fans at Burton, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Sheffield Utd/Weds, Bolton (FA cup), Stockport (play offs) to name but a few...10,000 at the proact....Gillingham, Rotherham, Mansfield etc. Over the past years, in those crowds it is deafening in the middle of thousands of spireites

Imagine this support roaring OUR team to success in non-league back to where we belong.

JR WILL get us back to where we belong

Oh and 26,000 spireites at the JPT final

6000 at Derby but it weren’t that loud tbh, maybe is because it was the side/corner

I enjoyed Barnsley in the play off season

And Scunthorpe in the FA Cup

From memory I think we averaged 1000 away that year

Scunthorpe & Doncaster that year will live long in the memory

5000 Spireites away at Halifax for the last away game of the season to see us clinch promotion or playoffs would be amazing

I have a vision of JR leading his team out at an away ground, with 3 sides of the ground occupied by thousands of spireites .....into a deafening wall of noise.

And the players absolutely buzzing, realising what an amazing club they are playing for........scoring a goal to send us up & going absolutely mental

(Just like Oldham away in the JPT)

About 3000 packed into the away corner at Grimsby in the relegation season was incredible (the game wasn’t)

Crowd was 49k odd so I wouldn’t have thought so

Replay was 30k, we must have had close on 20k for that

2000 Plus away at Leeds made an absolute racket in that cup game. The list goes on.

I remember being at Sheffield Wednesday when Sammy Clingan scored that stunner, looking around getting goosebumps at thousands of Spireites going absolutely mental...the noise was off the scale.

Repeated many, many times during Cooks tenure

So many to choose from.

It's not as well heralded but as a 14yo I remember being at Shrewsbury for the FA Cup game in 89/90. The team and the fans behind the goal were absolutely incredible that day.

Dave scored a header in the first half iirc. It was good, but not as good as Plummer's goal, pinged a couple of yards from the corner flag!

The away support under Cook was the best I’ve ever known it. I’d fully expect us to far outweigh home fans at most matches in this league if we ever get on a roll and look like getting promoted
