Running a league 1 football club on the basis that you will sell 2m worth of players each season is only going to end up one way.
Why oh why is Danny coming out with such comments.
It's called ' Towing the party line '

Hmmm. A strategic report without a strategy.
Ashley, shouldn't there have been a paragraph about how you plan, strategically, to reduce the debt?
If you worked for me you'd be gone.
Thought 70% of transfer income was to reduce debt or have I missed something That's about 1.500.000

Daft thing for him to say really.
Second bottom with morale as low as I can remember.
How are the fans supposed to react?
It's time he showed why he was appointed manager and why he shouldn't be sacked (as most would be in the current pickle). I like him and hope he can turn it round despite him buying and inheriting a load of old garbage in league 1 terms

Now he's just taking the urine. His toeing the line interviews are becoming more cringeworthy by the game.

The only way we don't lose is if we keep a clean sheet and that's not likely.

It is standard fare for every manager to say this sort of stuff and when the team is as bad as ours every manager starts to sound like this

Mix and match any of the following and you've got it about covered...
'Were very close to being a very good team'
'Fine margins is all it is'
'There's nothing in this league from top to bottom'
'Its not as if we're getting tonked every week'
'If that shot is two more inches to the left we go one up and then its a totally different ball game'
'The players are just a little bit short on confidence at the moment'
'Keep playing like that and we'll be fine'
'Were going to work all week on the training ground to eradicate these mistakes'
He also likes to talk a lot about game management - when it appears we don't have any!

What would like him to say?
What can say that will make one iota of difference?
"We are crap and it will take a miracle for us to stay up and possibly a change of manager"
It might be the truth and it would go down well with a few but I doubt the majority

Nothing. I have found no worth in any pre or post match interview for quite a while now, probably back to the Cook era.

Maybe even a john sheridan, "they're not listening to me" would even be better.. As it stands Danny's looking quite silly in what he says post/pre match, watching a totally different game to the rest of us

Oh yes that went down really well!
As for Cook check out the Pompey message board re: his post match interviews and he's actually winning most games, bit like the
stick he got on here
To be honest he was accurate in his synopsis of the Scunthorpe game and seemed to be reasonably accurate about the Charlton game
from the people who went there are saying. He rarely makes excuses for injuries or goes overboard about bad referees
If he is repetitive it's because our results are repetitive
