Expect it out imminently

King confirmed he is leaving. Sad for him but fully expected!

King has been good for us at times, but I think this is the right decision. Defensively we need better in his position. He’ll pick up a NL club no problem, wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Oldham

Agree with the decision but still feels like a shame. King brought us so many good moments. His goal/assist tally for the 2 seasons prior to this one was outrageous for a right back. Hope he goes on to do well.

Not a surprise King has gone, he had that really good spell first half of last season but then dropped off and never really reached those heights again. We've got away at this level by just out attacking teams but agree we probably need more a proper right back going forward. Think Sheckleford will do ok there as well but someone to compete with him.

I'm absolutely gutted, but I knew it was coming. That man is a massive reason that my son loves CFC and football in general. All the best Kingy.

Understandable but still a bit of a bit of a disappointment for any of the title winning squad to leave us.
I’m sure he’ll always be held in high regard by the fans at Chesterfield,
All the best Kingy

Football is cruel at this time of the season especially when you been part of an outstanding season. Personally I wish him all the best and sincerely thank him for the exciting times he contributed to.

Will always be a legend at Town, and hope he manages to get himself a decent contract at a decent club 👍

Been saying for weeks that King (in my mind at least) is nailed on to go Oldham

Doesn't fit their profile, he isn't knocking on 40 or a forward.

I think Halifax will be a step backwards.
He should be looking at a team aiming for a top 3 spot or one of the 'bigger guns' in there

I feel for Jeff King, I really do. He's not had a good season, but I thought he was getting better those last few games. I'm told he's had personal issues so that would certainly muck up his mojo.
Anyway, good luck to the lad, I really hope he kicks on and gets himself a good contract at a decent football playing club. I'll miss his runs up the wing and his interplay with Mandy.

His goals mate for me until the opposition began to stop him cutting inside.

That goal in the play offs last season was sensational - the goalies reaction was priceless.

Pace has undone us throughout the season, Cook has to fix it.

JK was a class above most the squad when he arrived

But Cook's evolved that squad to whole new levels.

He can leave with head held high in the knowledge he'll easily find a top NL outfit...
