Suppose it depends how they celebrate it. A quiet "yes", fist clench etc. wouldn't bother me much but someone cheering loudly, rubbing it in, taking the p**s etc. would rub me up the wrong way. I certainly wouldn't be violent or anything like that, I like being able to go to games and I also enjoy not having a criminal record but I would laugh heartily if someone else leathered him. I suspect many fans*Idiots* take the same viewpoint as me.

Perhaps harsh but I struggle to see how anyone can laugh heartily at someone getting a leathering.

Oh it's really quite simple. I don't care about them and they have taken the decision to be a bell end in this lovely hypothetical situation we have brewing, therefore I find it funny and I would laugh. To circumvent said leathering, don't be a bell end, then nobody gets hurt.

There are plenty of scenarios where someone getting punched would be funny, not necessarily football-related.

Edit: To confirm, I certainly don't want any violence to break out and I don't think it will anyway.

That's a shame. You condone violence irrespective of the possible consequences. One punch, not even a hard one can result in death. It happens everyday. If someone is acting the goat, I believe it's best left to the coppers and stewards to sort out.

Even better if they sit on their hands and keep it schtum.

I personally have no got a problem with away fans sitting in our end, provided they are well behaved and sit quietly, as I have done that at other grounds. I wouldn't really be bothered if they cheered if they scored as it is difficult not to sometimes, provided they didn't then make a big thing of it. Sure a lot of our fans would have gone in the away stands at Rotherham and Burton for example. I well remember going to Stoke, supporting York, and sitting in the Stoke end near the York Fans, and was intending to sit quietly, but then York scored and could not help myself. Alright it wasn't the most sensible thing to do.
I have never understood why football can not be like other sports, been to Rugby union, Rugby League and Cricket with fans of both teams sitting together, and they are civilised enough not to beat the living daylights out of each other. Indeed it actually enhances the experience.

You can help yourself. You presumably have complete control of your body's movements and the sounds that come out of your mouth so yes, you can absolutely 100% control yourself.

I went to a Roses match one day cup semi final at Old Trafford once and there ended up being some trouble later on in the day once folk had had a few between Lancs and Yorkshire fans!

When I had more of a soft spot for Derby than I do now I went to Filbert Street for a game that saw pretty much a relegation play-off.

Derby scored and I stood up, momentarily forgetting where I was, and I quickly changed my cheer into a massive foul mouthed rant as if I was abusing the scorer.

I would without doubt have got a thrashing in the Leicester kop.

Must say that it wound me up that there was a Wednesday fan sat in the West Family stand last time we played them wearing their shirt. Stone Age territorial stuff maybe.

Some interesting posts in amongst the normal rubbish

http://www.s24su.com...field-fc.36229/

Like the poster who phoned up the ticket office to complain and was told they new he was SU season ticket holder. If so there must be a fair amount of leaising going on between the clubs

They are a bunch of absolute f***ing idiots.

That cretin "Tynemouth Blade" who is just repeating himself ad infintum in particular is a bit of a c0ck. It's already a sell out, we don't need your additional away support lol.

What is it about Sheffield that turns people into such ignorant morons?
