Agree that the solution is for someone to buy the club. Think I read that AC has indicated it will be 2 years before that happens. If I got that right has he explained why it might be 2 years?

Everything under the carpet will need to be cleaned up

Here's his actual quote (I'm guessing the strange grammer was down to his device): 'DA does now not expect to seep whilst we are in League 2 so that is at least one more year, then let's see, but that is a long way off. We may stay in this league for. Ore than one season.'

I interpret that as either AC or DA himself linking any sale to a return to L1.

Credible? Or as unrealistic as his current asking price.

Or, at the risk of Ashley once again accusing me of negativity, are we merely witnessing an owner with no intention of selling whatsoever...

Ashley is Tom Hagen.
His recent activity suggests he is legitimising the business

Why would any buyer be bothered about historic accounts?

The owner has created a problem for himself as the club is potentially far more profitable than the the recent accounts suggest, hence his asking price. Go back further pre CT being appointed and the "historic" accounts show the club had greater control over its costs. Comparing the historic accounts v the recent and the reasons behind the cost increases become apparent, this appears to be something DA is so desperate to avoid he'd rather keep the club for a couple more years.

Because they tell a story, a story worth knowing for the buyer. They tell trends, errors, lucky gains, unlucky losses, bad decisions that can be corrected, some that can't. Ad infinitum.

If significant issues are found in any examination of the historic accounts it will weaken the seller's position.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

It would be like buying a used car and not asking to see the service history, log book etc..

Be very interesting to see what this season brings and how that affects the accounts.
God I hate this league.

Ashley has a dilemma and that is the Liquidator's Report.

If it is suppressed then whoever paid the Liquidator his fee will be suspected of applying pressure.
If it is a whitewash then Ashley knows the conclusions can be blown away by evidence in our hands.
If it exposes the truth then the links between DS business and CFC business, especially payroll, will come out.

So just when Ashley is about to take the 'Chris Turner's Fault' bin bag to the tip, he's hoping his new leaf has been tuned over, he's coaxed some very influential sceptics back to the fold ....we start all over again.

He'd be better off lancing the boil now and coming clean.

I think the report is due in August. Is that right 60-70s Spireite?

supressed means delayed indefinitely.
whitewash means biased, unfair, one sided.

Cheers. Which of those outcomes would be most favourable for the fans, AC and LS?

I don't give a s**t about Sutcliffe.

Ashley faces the possibility of a major critical report being published just at the time when he wants everybody to get behind the team. His first thought might be to either suppress it or sex it up.

I'd advise him to deal with it before the end of July. He knows the level of integration between the CFC and DS businesses. He knows whether the published CFC accounts were a true reflection. He knows why the DS paid CFC employees.

AC says he's not paid anybody anything as it's nothing to do with him.
