But was lower than regular servicemen’s pensions.

That doesn’t mean they were hard done too.

I served in a Gurkha Regt for three years, I saw how well treated they were compared to their British colleagues. They did very well back then.

Some disgraceful behaviour from the right today. Football thugs chanting and fighting with police. Pretty much as expected.

Some disgraceful behaviour from factions of the Pro-Palestinian march today. Thugs chanting ‘from the river to the sea’ and assaulting members of the public with placards criticising Hamas.

Total nob heads on both extremes. You only have to look on here for the type of nob head existing at the fringes of reason and normal society.

Today though we saw something respectable, spontaneous and representative that showed what the British people thought of today.

Just before, and just after the silence there was a round of applause from the thousands of peaceful, respectful members of the public. Something I’ve never seen before. And something that represents the public of this nations view of the armistice day. A solemn, almost sacred two minutes to pay respects to the fallen.

Nob heads, extremists, racists, religious zealots and tin foil hat cranks just won’t get that. Respect to the fallen for giving you the freedom to speak freely.

Let’s agree to disagree.

Gurkhas never paid F&A, even married soldiers, they never paid for transportation back and forth to Nepal. I went twice to Nepal on a pension run and believe you me, they were paid handsomely.

A Gurkha Cpl earned more than the Nepalese Prime Minister.

Would I like to meet the Lancers?

A group of aggressive middle aged men wearing fancy dress.

No but thanks for the offer.

Looking at some of the ‘ fancy dressed’ fellas on the touch line today you ain’t saying that to their faces.
They’d eat you for breakfast old boy….

He's not a disgrace to our football club, Les.

He doesn't support our football club - in fact he's just an attention seeking fantasist trolling these forums from the anonymity of a keyboard.

I ignore his deranged gibberish; I suggest others do the same...

In the UK, Article 10 of the 1998 Human Rights Act protects our right to freedom of expression:

Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.

Are freedom of speech and freedom of expression the same thing? In the UK, freedom of speech is legally one part of the wider concept of freedom of expression.

Agreed, I've noticed you don't reply or engage in a debate with him, nor do a couple of other prolific posters, can't blame ya, the more that join in with that the sooner he will realise and maybe go away

Watched the remembrance day commemorations today as usual but the thing that struck me most was the quote at the end of the program

" Only the dead have seen the end of war "

Agree,
Watched that and even Brendan Rodgers looked embarrassed by it all.
Shithouse of a club.
