exactly where Im at. He always looked nervous when he played and his distribution was pretty poor.

I always said the same but when he played in his natural position against Watford, he seemed much more confident and assured in what he was doing.

I am not a massive fan of Frecks but I will leave it up to P.C. to decide what we need. He has made some exciting signings so far.

Personally think Frecks would be a good signing. Agree he isn't the finished article but he's handy in that he can cover a couple of positions whilst he is still young so could hopefully be our future LCB.

One further thing in his favour, (if I?ve read the rules correctly) because he was under 21 at the start of 2024, he wouldn?t count as one of the 22 in the squad limit for 2024/25. To have a player with a decent amount of first team experience and who doesn?t impact on your squad limit must be a bonus?
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Someone like Freckleton is one you sign with one eye on potentially selling for a profit down the line as well.

Freckletons best game was a Watford playing against proper footballers. His failings at our level was his inability to expect the unexpected, something that may not be such a requirement as he progresses up the levels. Hopefully with us!!!

I agree worth a place and definitely has potential

Come on mick that?s like a ref saying he is better at a higher level, it?s codswallop, the reason he played well against Watford is like a hell of a lot of lower league players in the cup, they find it in themselves to raise their game, the problem is one swallow does not make a summer and it?s consistency that you judge on, all he has is youth on his side because he gives the ball away for fun .. not for me

Also just a reminder that he's 20. If we sign him permanently, not only will he be a good addition but there will be plenty of suitors if we wanted to sell on with so much time on his side. Whatever you think of him now is your call, but whatever that is, there will be improvement on that.

He's young enough to develop, left sided and quick. On balance, I think those attributes make him worth bringing in but I'd lose no sleep if we look elsewhere.

Which is why I can?t understand folk suggesting Freckleton would be a good addition because he can play in a few positions.

What are they?

Because the only other position I can recall him playing is at left back and he doesn?t look one of those in a million years.

He may be a prospect at left side centre half but that?s it.

Agree that Freckleton would be a very useful squad member. He's got the physical stature, pace, and ball control to do a decent job as and when required. He has occasionally looked a bit hesitant and unsure, but a bit more composure would come with more experience. I think, with the right guidance from coaches and teammates, he could become a valuable asset.
