I'd wanna be comfortable too, and buy a helicopter at £2 million + £150k a year running costs so I could get to the away games quickly

We have the facilities.
Funnily enough my wife commented how little advertising there was outside the ground as we drove past only the other day, in stark contrast to the promotions bedecking it in earlier years. Are there Christmas lunches? Is there a black tie New Years Eve ball? Is there anything of interest to punters like myself and the missus? Unfortunately whoever's in charge of publicising such events is doing a lousy job if so.
We have the fanbase.
We've been amongst the top ten best supported L1 outfits in recent times, selling out on several occasions before that. Infact even poor seasons have seen us average what some clubs can only dream of during successful seasons. Then England youth games? High profile gigs? The punters are there, yet they're currently being given too many reasons to stay away.
It seems Dave Allen is no longer interested in maximising income at the Proact. Or if he is, those he's employed to do so are delivering the opposite.
Either way there remains the potential to run a successful football club and leisure destination at 1866 Sheffield Road.

'Football is neither big business nor good business. It arguably isn't even a businesses all'.
Would I buy CFC if I had those kind of surplus resources? Probably, but only ensuring every sinew of income stream was exhausted and every penny spent was planned and budgeted for.

I had considered this but it'd be too cool to land on the pitch of a ground before each game

Wasn't meant to deprecate the club, I simply wouldn't buy it, as per the question.
I wouldn't buy any football club, no matter what funds I had to play with.

its the sort of figure that's been speculated, but certainly not mentioned by anyone of note.
I guess its based on the amount DA has invested/loaned/bought shares for but certainly doesn't represent the actual commercial value of the business (half that would be nearer given the financial result of late for any 'normal' business).
Given its not like any other business where you can simply set up your own FL club then maybe that comes with a premium?
Unless DA puts his stake on eBay (I'm surprised no one else has, yet!) or in the classified ads in the DT we have no way of knowing what he wants for it.

That's all I'd want. Debt free club being run properly. No interest in actually owning it and a comfy seat, nice food and a shandy.
So when I win Firedodger, Junieblue (and Gary of course, cant remember his username) Forever a Spireite, Lindave, Bucko, Norton Spireite you can all have one, or a couple each if you want but you'd have to put up with me flaunting my vast wealth every other Saturday.
