Just wondered if it was worth having a thread dedicated to the match given the interest it’s bound to cause?
I’ll start it off with this article.

It's fine, although the article contains the worst ever spelling of Spireites

Does anyone know when the TV schedule is usually announced?
Given we’re headlining on the BBC Sport FA Cup page, I think we’re almost certain to be selected (fingers crossed)!

Also managed to misspell Fratton Park in the same paragraph as that...

I think it's more to do with the different TV companies agreeing on picks and agreeing arrangements with the clubs

It also has a tweet that Naylor is a ‘winter player’ and I have seen a few references to that on their message board. Hope that just means he gets better as winter sets in because we should be in for a treat.

I noticed that to and I made the same assumption. I’m not sure what else it could mean.

Great draw for us. Potentially a sell out and with the added interest of the Portsmouth - CFC connections.

As said it ain’t just league positions that make the tie interesting but the very recent history, players and coaching staff.

It's a bit of a running joke amongst the fanbase. We made the playoffs on points-per-game in the season Covid ended the regular season early. Naylor was captain, an automatic pick, and had been pretty much ever-present prior to the shut down; but he wasn't selected in the first XI for either of the play-off semis, replaced by someone who'd not made a league start in over a year; in fact, he didn't get on the pitch at all if memory serves.

When our then manager was asked about it in an interview after the game he basically garbled a response that this was summer football, not winter football and he'd needed to make the change. Nobody quite knew what it meant (including the manager, I think); but it's one of those moments that signified a sense that said manager had lost the plot. Naylor is largely remembered for being a winter player, on that basis.

Glad to see he's doing well with you under Cook.
