Plenty of possession.

Plenty of passing.

Plenty of patience.

But like Town at our frustrating worst falling victim to sides packing defence and hitting on the break...

I think people of a certain age remember Leeds from the Revie era and either love them or hate them. They invented the dark arts and they made each game they played a warzone, which was a pity when you had gifted players like Johnnie Giles, Mick Jones, and Peter Lorimer gracing the team. Most around my age will remember the games between Leeds and Chelsea with the London team having the great Peter Osgood up front, who could dish it out with the best of em, Eddie McCreadie who was no choirboy and the Kray gang sounding Ron Chopper Harris, who would have given Vinnie Jones the kicking of his life. Yeah, glad they lost 😆.

Think they have lost every play-off final they've ever got to, this was their 6th failure.

6th play off failure, including 2 semi final defeats
1986/87 - lost in Division Two (now Championship) final over two legs to Charlton Athletic. This was before the final was played as a one-off a Wembley.

2005/06 - lost in Championship final to Watford 3-0 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

2007/08 - lost in League One final to Doncaster at Wembley.

2008/09 - lost in League One semi-finals to Millwall.

2018/19 - lost in Championship semi-finals to Derby County.

2023/24 - lost in Championship final to Southampton at Wembley.

Hi Chris. ( I know quite a few posters on here. All my friends)

First ever post on here, here goes.

I've been a town fan all my life and only got rid of my season ticket at the end of the Allen \ Carson debacle for some context to my background.

I see all the play off teams that were favourites on the day lost this year. Heard a stat that in Leeds last six play off final appearances they have failed to score a goal! Wow!

I think the blunts good the record for being the most bobbins in play off finals though ha

Never in a million years was that a corner and I tell Dion Dublin that every time I see him on TV. It drives the wife mad but I have to do it!
George Courtney was the referee that day if I remember correctly.

He was on homes under the hammer the other day opposite the ground and got a little dig in about it.

Even after 34 years as Chris rightly said "It still stings!"

No mate, he got a dig in about scoring the goal that beat us.

He always mentions it when he?s nearby. ?I?m not too popular around these parts?

The more worrying thing is how many of us, albeit probably due to our other halves, watch the programme!

Yep, my standard response!
Always interested to watch when it?s local, and when it is it?s usually Dion.
Otherwise it?s wallpaper to me.

They showed a list of teams with the worst play off records going. Think Sheff U we?re top with 9, was a team with 7 (Lincoln maybe) and a handful on 6 including Leeds and Bury

Ours isn?t much better, but atleast we?ve managed to win one

Dion Dublin, probably wouldn't get in the top ten strikers whose first name is Dion.

Slightly different spelling but Warwick was probably better than him as well!
