Morning

Anyone heard if there is a pitch inspection planned ?

This-

It’s pouring it down in Halifax, one of the worst pitches in the league, 3k fans to travel there and no mention if there will be or will not be a pitch inspection.

We've just had 10 days of pretty decent weather, quite warm and breezy, perfect for draining the pitch, and getting the grass growning.. (my back garden has gone from a swamp to looking like the amazon jungle) so I'm sure with a the groundsman on a football pitch, no play on it for 11 days I'm sure the Halifax pitch can take a bit of rain this morning and is looking quite well ( compared to recent photo's) rain is due to stop in that area early afto, so I see no problem with the game being off...

(Probably just jinxed it now)
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

a friend has been down to the ground to get tickets. Sizable queues! According to those selling the tickets, halifax have had the turf off to sort out the drainage and then put it back on so sounds hopeful should be all good for tonight! They had also mentioned that Halifax had sent a further 1000 tickets but not sure if that was a misunderstanding and that is what is left from the original 3000 considering we had sold 2070 by lunch yesterday.

I blame Town Fan. Sorry I mean John Croot. Whoever. It’s the clubs fault. Grr.

Why doesn’t our Trust sort out Halifax’s pitch as well as their ticketing arrangements?

Someone on our(Halifax) forum has posted a picture of pitch after walk past this morning, with all the rain last night and currently still happening. It's not looking good in my opinion. Attached File  IMG_6584.jpeg (1.01MB)

Seriously, go back a month to our home game against Aldershot, and the pitch had held up and was looking the best it had for many a year for a February. Fast forward constant rai, no desso pitch and the rugby starting, and that's the result. Our council are trying to fob off rinning the stadium to the two clubs. We need to get a desso pitch installed and drainage redone. If we are to ever escape this yearly occurrence.

The rain is supposed to stop in the next couple of hrs, is that long enough to fork the f**k out of it. Who knows.....

Lifting the turf off and putting it back again hardly seems plausible - it would take weeks for it to root again and be firm and playable. If the photograph is genuine it looks like they might have lifted the mud off and put it back again.

Completely implausable, it’ll slip up the moment anyone runs on it, particularly with all the rain.
Tbh you have to say it seems slightly ridiculous with the amount travelling that no decision has been made on an inspection

I hope it's on and financially it would be well worth it for you as I won't make a arrangements for a third attempt after we've already gone up.

That sounds decidedly dodgy from a players point view regardless of how good a pre season they may have had.

The possibility of having to arrange refunds for us might force them to make the pitch playable!

Of course some will recall the Shay being also a speedway track. To square off the oval, turf was laid on pallets in each of the corners, readily removable for bikes. One of our corner kick takers once struggled all game as how to mount the turf from the track and strike the ball.

Wouldn't blame any of you, and that is biggest fear for us Halifax fans as well, as we will lose
Out on a decent payday. When the following goes from 2500-3500 to what maybe 500-1000.

I hate our council. We could get refused promotion anyway, as if the ground is dual use, you are required by the efl
To have a desso type pitch installed.

Doubt it’s pouring down, my driver is in Huddersfield and all he’s seen is light rain which has now stopped.
God I hate this league.
