The brother with the most cash is an Accountant who has built up a very successful business in another field.
I don’t think there is any question he would be happy chucking big money at players without afore thought.

It's just a worry from previous big name signings.
Now after an hour or so of seeing it, the excitement has now crept up and now I'm at a quiver! Come on Town!!!

Need confirmation if he hates the song attributed to him like we heard recently.

No -per the interview he would lying if he said he didn’t like the song. It was part of the best part of his career- and hopes to be hearing it at our stadium.

Also… confirmed pre season starts Saturday (presumably that’s the Portugal flight)

Mixed emotions on this one for me.
On paper, Grigg tears this league a new one but (from an outsider looking in) business point of veiw, surely he's on massive wages - I thought the Kirks had come in to make the club sustainable, not chuck big money at a players and hope we nail promotion.

It's **** or bust now for the Kirk's and for the club. Doesn't look good does it when we say £2.5m in debt and they criticised the trust when they took over (sorry invested) about trying to throw money at promotion and try they've got and spent massively on long contracts for what will be the highest paid players at the curb and in the league

Different board, different manager, different quality of player, different financial backing.
Or would u prefer risking it again with the also rans?

Go for it - stop the moaners and enjoy the ride
Wasn't Phil Gregg spotted in Griggs in Tescos?

Very true, hopefully he can get back in. I liked him at right back and CB when he played.

I think the longer deal helps with balancing the books to cost spread over 3 years etc.

I'm gonna trust Cookie, he knows what he can and cannot spend. Funny how when we sign a young cheap prospect (the lad from Alfreton) people moan but when we sign proven players that's bad too

This one worries me tbh. I reckon he'll be on big money for our purse and I don't share the same views as others that he's proven. His goals per game record isn't great, and in the last few years it's been pretty poor actually. I just worry that this confidence in him coming in and tearing it up is off the back of a purple patch he had about 6 or more years ago and I worry that it's a false dawn.

I hope it goes without saying that I hope he does indeed tear it up, and that it's three years of (probably) high wages for us well spent - but I can't say I don't have my concerns. I appreciate the club can't keep everyone happy and I'm not having a moan here or being a doom monger - just sharing a perspective.

A mate of mine who has been watching MK for years text me last night:
“Pull the ball back from the byline and he will score everytkme but was really poor for us but should do well at national league level. A better player in a team that creates chances, doesn’t make anything for himself. He needs to be fed. Shouldn’t have been given a 3 year deal”

So how much have they thrown at these signings then?

For them personally I don't think it is **** or bust. They are wealthy and the tick in the box is that they are astute businessmen unlike the previous owner who built his wealth on peoples gambling habits and best of all, they are lifelong fans at the club.

Will they be successfull here? Who knows but they are professional enough not to think we need an Ashley Carson type amature running things for them. I totally understand your concerns but this is a different day and we need to give them support in what they are trying to achieve here.

Owen Doyle never made anything for himself either…….

I’m a bit shocked we have payed a fee. I thought MK were keen to get him off their books and might’ve facilitated his move with a payoff.

We created loads of chances last season, and that’s with the millions of times we were in a crossing position and opted to go backwards due to a lack of presence in the box. A fox in the box is just what we need. Hopefully Grigg’s the man.

Have we thrown or diverted? How much have we saved on Mannys wage and any other potential outgoings? Has the budget been increased by potentially 50% based on gates alone ie 4k upto 6k. Have the Kirks with their contacts got other money men interested in investing?
Perhaps we need a mutt that moves in higher circles.

Like others have said I remember being underwhelmed when we signed the ageing, non prolific, always banned at Christmas Striker on a long term contract.

If Grigg is half as good I’d be happy
