The three that stick out for me were. Scarborough away, frozen pitch, Luton away, torrential rain, and Burnley away New Year’s Day, another frozen pitch. All three late nineties, from the Newton area in the car and got to the turnstiles each time before being turned away

Nov '82 got too within a dozen or so miles of Cardiff. Called for a spot of light? refreshment, as we sat down Football Focus (or whatever it was called) announced that there had been a late postponement Cardiff v Chesterfield.
Apparently the egg chasers (they had a rugby league side) had f...ed the pitch up during a midweek game. Pity they didnt look at it on Friday.

Also got to Brighton (went for weekend) when they watered the pitch to get it called of when Zamora was under suspension and the manager was banned.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Remember the Burnley game New Years Day, drove there from Burton feeling rough as a badgers bottom, not a happy bunny. I also recall a Town home game vs Burnley being called off last minute in the 90's?

Going off on a complete tangent, I remember going to see The Jam at Stafford Bingley Hall in the late 70s, and my brother's mk1 Escort broke down on Cannock Chase. Managed to thumb a lift to Stafford town centre and my brother saying that we still had plenty of time as there's the support act first and they are always on late anyhow, so we decided to have a couple of beers first. We didn't realise how far a walk to Bingley Hall was. Finally got there to hear a massive applause and Paul Weller saying "Thank you, good night"!!

Back on topic I travelled down to Exeter on the Friday to find the game was postponed due to waterlogged pitch. In pub the next day and was told Torquay was still on. Had another pint or two and was then told that was now off as well. The only 2 games off that day. Ended up watching Exeter rugby.
