Sorry if this is on another thread (can't see one).

EFL Championship/ League 1 and League 2 fixtures are released 22/06.

National League 05/07

Last game in EFL was league 1 play off 29/05, so 3 weeks from finishing the league to releasing the next seasons fixtures.

Last game in the National League was the play off finals North and South, the day after ours, so 7 weeks and 3 days from the last game to the fixtures being released.

We really are in a p.poor league which is poorly run.

well my guess is that the EFL dont have back to back xmas and new year games against the same team to minimise travel issues and so is easier to get a computer programme to do.... and they dont need to know exactly who is in which league before they do it....

Whereas national league does and then add in the joy of working out where the north ends for the purposes of regional football (Oxford or somewhere isnt it this season..?)

Not sure where our fixtures fit in with the leagues below being done but there are still teams sorting out which division they will be in next season with some appealing placements etc. Not sure if there is a cut off for that being sorted that affects fixtures being done.

In the days of no computers I'd agree it's an acceptable delay.

Knowing how quickly the various parameters can be put into a program to spew out a draft fixture list before consultation with National League, I'd say 52 days is a tad excessive.

Wasnt it said that until a few years ago the National League fixtures were worked out manually by one person at home without the aid of any computer material?

not that that would explain why the delay now because I think it is computerised now lol

Still need to know who the teams are....

They may also wonder what the rush is about, how far ahead do you need to know? I get there will be some weekenders that people are wanting to set up but even from the 5th July you have x weeks to first game.... and we could take 15k to Wembley with naff all notice...

I'd imagine L1 and L2 are only out that early as championship needs to be for TV coverage, police planning etc...

National league also has TV coverage to plan. And police request 7 days notice. EG cup replays

Obviously the earlier the better. If it's doable then why not?

It's a real issue for us having 2 weeks less to sort out all of the coaches and the price for adults and under 16's for each game in order to produce our travel information sheet for the season and then get it printed.

The set off times are ok as we've had plenty of notice who our 23 opponents will be. I assume that NE Blue was referring to Oxford City and not Oxford United in his earlier post.

I get why you might need extra notice but I do think some fans are just bored now and its anything to moan about!

I'm hoping for Oxford City away first game as that is nice and handy for me....

I'm bored, bored of all the inaction that close season brings. Thought it a valid point when I raised it.

It probably was, and I am also bored with nothing better to talk about so we all end up talking about something and nothing! I'm just as bad....

At the recent fans group meeting I asked Ashley Kirk, who was due to attend the National League AGM , if he could ask the league to explain why it takes so long, I'll try and find out if he asked and got a response
