Big fella, probably a bit overweight, skinhead, tattoos, usually in cropped jeans, long lace-up DMs, maybe wearing bracers?! Recall him running on the pitch before one home game, shaking hands with both captains in centre circle and then jogging back to kop with his name being sung. Hero worship eh?

I think my uncle may have worked with him. Was he a miner?
A new hope.

I said stupidity not stupid. (It's different)
You then offer veiled threats and go back to the "46 years " stuff

You get mardy about the stupidity comment but feel its ok for yoo to call players useless and rubbish?

I remember going Barnsley in the 70s and seeing dozens of CFC fans just off the special train, running through the town centre trying to frighten the grannies, looking rite hard

I can't get the image of a little bald bloke in a wheelchair, 10 yards off the pace frantically trying to keep up.

Memory playing tricks but still a funny image

Town won 1-4 I think

I don't really see why CPS gets such a bee in his bonnet about 'Gessler' (obviously before my time), they were different times.

Wasn't Tic's dad an irishman who wore bifocal glasses and usually had plenty to drink before the game? I can remember him taking a banner to Crewe / Swansea? stating something like CFC fourth division champions 69/70?we drew and had to wait for the last home game to complete the job.Him and Tic hardly ever missed a game.

You'd have respected gesler alright, as a young teenager I always felt a lot safer when him and his heavies were around, because we could make it back to the coaches / trains whilst they were battling out with the scum from rival clubs.
