For those who knew him I am very sad to announce that John, a founder member of the club and current West Stand season ticket holder died on Sunday. He'd been ill for quite a while but was still determined to be at the games travelling from his home in Silsden until it became impossible - only a few weeks ago. He was in his early 60s and unfortunately had a complex genetic heart condition. Recent heart surgery last December didn't quite do the trick but gave him a little more time for his work, his writing, 'town' and his beloved Carol (obviously in reverse order!) The last time I was at a game with him he was struggling to get up the steps to his seat but he kept on after that, I don't know how. He was a real supporter and a regular since a boy. After a tough time, especially during these last weeks he can 'rest in peace'.

Also knew John from Netherthorpe and was in the same class as well! Saw John many times at away games as we were in different home stands and he took his illness with bravery and great dignity. John will be sadly missed and it just won't be the same without him to chat to at so many different away tea bars!
RIP John
