Tempted to go to Headingley on Sunday if I can convince the Missus it's a better option than the bike and rock day at the Arkwright Arms (which it might not be!).

Not made the most of the start. They'll be lucky to get to 300 which is not likely to be enough

Why Smit came in before Wilson, lord only knows

Exactly Azul

Smit cost us the extra 20 to 30 runs that might have swung the match our way at the end

Going off for rain was also a farce

How we lost 3 overs when the ground wasnt even wet had everyone scratching their heads

Milnes also needs a spell in the 2nd team as well to try and get his confidence back ( I am being kind with that assumption)

Edit Just seen that Milnes is in the 2nd eleven squad to play Worcestershire tomorrow

Carter? What, soon to pack in?

No just a bowler that gives away too many runs. Why didn't Taylor play?

Well we got a lot closer than i thought we would only losing by 15 in the end....who'd be a bowler these days!! Out of the 13 bowlers used in the match only 3 went for less than a run a ball and they were all ours!!

Great win today. First win against them at Derby since 1996 I think.

Brilliant days cricket, even the keg IPA was ok

Made heavy weather of the chase but a great innings from Mendis was crucial. Great hitting but I thought his running between the wickets was a great lift, just as everything was stagnating.

Jury out on Hardus but a couple of decent overs at the end showed some promise

Derbyshire have won a game of Cricket under pressure and that is a massive positive at long last

I'm going to see my first cricket of the summer tomorrow. The missus says she likes cricket so we're off to Blackpool to watch Derbyshire. Be leaving Boza about half eight so if we bomb up M1 & M62 should make the start. Fifteen quid in it seems. I've never seen Hameed play, nor Livingstone and with Jimmy Anderson too and a few of ours there are some good players involved.

Disappointing about the rain. Should allow an easy run chase for Lancs in a curtailed match. I don't think D/L ever compensates for the team batting 1st in theses circumstances

Hope Derbyshire didn't win the toss a chose to bat knowing a period of rain was likely early on

TOSS: @LancsCCC have won the toss at Blackpool and have asked #DCCC to bat first. Play to start at 11am.

Wickets are the key really....keep them in tact whilst batting and take them when bowling.

It is now essentially a 36 over game where we spent 10 overs thinking it was a 50 over game and going at the appropriate rate

Does D/L take this situation into account by adding a few runs to the target, or is it just tough luck? I can't remember

Edit
So they do add runs to Derbyshire score, just have to wait to see how many.

Just got back after watching our innings and leaving when the rain stopped play around 245 and watching it rain steady till 330

A glorious morning weather wise until the umpires came out and it started to rain

There was a period from about 100 till 145 when it did not rain so the umpires waited till then to start play again just as the rain started again

Another fine innings from Ben Slater but the highlight of our innings was Shiv Thakor pulling Jimmy Anderson out of the ground
and Anderson going eyeball to eyeball with him

The umpire then called Anderson over gave him a talking to and literaly took his name

I think its the first time I have seen that on a cricket field

Listening to Lancs reply on the way back its best just to say another defeat from the jaws of victory and it looks like Mendis might have injured his hand trying to take a catch in the next to the last over

We left and missed the run chase. Given the result I'm glad.

What did you think to Andersons run in with Thakor and his subsequent <booking<

Also Thakor being stumped just before they came off cost us a few runs on what Lancs had to chase but the rain was no different to what it had been as they played as Godleman said after the match

Its a good viewing ground though just a pity it was the first rain since Moses was a lad in the area

I thought it was quite funny as I said to my Missus that he won't take kindly to going for 16 off an over. Thakor seemed to look at him bemused.

I didn't notice any 'booking' though. Is that a thing now?

A bit annoyed that we payed £15 each and saw 19 overs of cricket but our fault I suppose. We hung around for an hour and forty minutes in the drizzle and what made me doubt a resumption was how slow they were to come back on after the first stoppage. The umpires didn't seem overly inclined to get things moving and the groundstaff were slow.

Shame really as a full game would have been good. Nice little ground really.

The umpire made a note of Andersons name as he walked away from him and as you say the period between when it stopped raining the first time and when they eventually came out was bizarre

I suppose it all helped to put the match in Lancy Lancy Lancashires favour as soon as they won the toss

I wonder what would have happened if we had won the toss lol
