Looking at the 2 games Morsy is missing, am I right in thinking that these are Coventry and Gillingham at home?

Hmm, my thinking in selecting Hird was that one of the games would be away. As we saw on Saturday, Morsy drives us forward when the oppostion is sitting deep.

Coventry don't seem to concede many so might be more defensive (although new manager effect...), but Gillingham appear to be in decent form, so maybe horses for courses?

I would think the clubs he's been loaned to indicates how close he is to the first team

And he didn't get much of a look in at Stalebridge

We should be having a look at Harley Wigley at Stalybridge, 19 yr old CB who captained Millers youth before Evans scrapped the youth set up.

God I hate this league.

O'Shea taking Morsy's role? You are surely joking; they're players for completely differing roles. O'Shea has skill and can score a great goal occasionally, whereas Morsy works constantly to disposses opponents using great strength and tenacity. I think Hird is better suited to take Morsys place - he doesn't have the same sharpness as Morsy, but he's solid and reliable.

Hird will be OK for two games in there. Jimmy tends to up his game without Samy next to him so I'm less concerned about that than the issue it leaves behind.

I think he will prefer to keep Hird alongside Evatt and go with Ritchie though I'd do the other.

humphries can do a job in midfield, be a shame to break up the hird/evatt partnership now they both hitting form.

unless we bring in a loanee?

Humphreys has done well when called upon this season but how much longer can we rely on a 37 year old to play in our engine room?

I'd have Gobern back. Good player. The Jimmy Ryan situation is becoming serious so we might need a long term replacement. Left footer if possible.

In the short term he's at least here until the end of the season now at which point if he does leave we can have a good look around the free transfer market etc in the summer and potentially pick up another gem. Its how Ryan ended up with us in the first place and as much as i would like him to stay if its not feasible i trust PC to pick up someone decent over pre season.

Looks like Ryan is on a promise (from Clough?) and up for a big pay rise and signing on fee.

We're not going to get a loan, going on Cook's recent comments about trusting our own players.

Personally i'd play Humphreys there.
