Message Board Language Religious Terms

Is there any possibility that the moderators can block use of the words "Jesus" and "Christ" in message board content in the same way that four letter "offensive words are. I enjoy reading the board and occasionally contribute but I do object to the use of these terms, being a Christian myself. I am sure there are others who feel the same.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

No, that's just talking about life.
The moderators do not allow certain words to be used because they are deemed "offensive". Personally I don't mind the use of certain 4 letter words as they can add touch of humour and, having worked down t'pit for 15years, I am largely insensitive to them.
Use of "Jesus" and "Christ" in a blasphemous context is extremely offensive to us Christians so I feel that I should ask for their use to be restricted.

That said Jesus is not an uncommon name for footballers from South America which might be an issue if we ever sign one!
Nomenclature is always interesting when it comes to deities. "Christ" has an interesting etymology and its link in a single name to Yahweh or use with the definite article seems to come quite late in the "Christian age" with the retelling of the Gospels. Its modern form from the Greek for "anointed one" is a title rather than a name.
If it is considered objectionable to censor the name of god from the message board I am not volunteering to add the 30000 plus names to the swear filter!

JESUS WAS A COMMON NAME IN BIBLICAL TIMES TOO HOWEVER IT IS NOT BEING USED AS A "SWEAR" WORD

THE TERM ANOINTED ONE IS THEREFORE BEING USED OUT OF CONTEXT WHEN USED AS AN EXCLAMATION

BUT I AM ONLY ASKING YOU TO ADD TWO TO THE SWEAR FILTER; JESUS AND CHRIST AS THESE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHICH ARE BEING USED IN A SWEARING CONTEXT AND AS SUCH ARE OFFENSIVE TO CHRISTIANS LIKE ME.

As a sceptic, rationalist and anti-theist I think it is best if I don't get involved in this discussion. If an individual post offends you I will consider it; I usually side with the one seeing offence even if it don't see it myself.

Don't tar us all with the same brush, I have no objection to the use of those words in whatever context.

I agree, it doesn't alter the price of fish, the big man can look after himself, so no need for anyone to champion him on here.
Crusader is happy to hear "F*** off you blind C*** Ref" at the game but not "Jesus Christ ref how did you miss that?" frankly I'm astonished.
I used to know a Catholic priest who used the terminology Crusader is against (as well as the swearing - which he isn't), was he any less a christian - and this from a bloke that committed his life to the church!

No I am not an invader wanting to cause trouble.
Been on this board for a number of years and supported 'Town for about 40 years. My name does have some connection with the fact that I am a Christian. Not sure if it offends muslims perhaps they could join in the debate.
I accept that certain language at football games is accepted as part of the experience including the use of God's names. I worked down t'pit for a number of years so I am bothered by use of "colourful" language.
However the board moderators deem it necessary to ban the use of the majority of these terms. I was just enquiring as to the possibility of including the names of God and Jesus as these are equally offensive as those ancient anglo saxon words are to a minority of the general public.
What if I started a message with the phrase "fecking muhammad" or bl**dy buddha, would that raise a few eyebrows?

It's like we are getting treated like special needs children. Which, if we all were like Mattthespireite would be fine, but...
