I am sure we can match macclesfields offer! Wouldnt mind Big Fletch for a couple of seasons! I think they will have a average season 14-17th place

Am sure we could too ... though it may depend on how long the contract is, maybe if coaching's involved too.
Macc will hav backing cos of Ince's involvement, so maybe there's more money available to them for wages now?
He'd be 35 when the season kicks off ... I'd still rather see us go for somone younger. I struggle to see point in having another end of career player ... someone with a few years left, grand ... or take a CALCULATED risk with a trial to someone like Ramon Calliste, or else Eifion Williams (though he's not the tallest), or more proven player in Owusu, 30 when season starts.
Macc will start well ... be mid table towards top ten, and Ince will leave in January 2008 for a Championship job.

I think you'd better get ready to watch a team where they're all alike, in a division where, yes you've guessed it, they're all alike. Its football, Jim, but not as we know it....

We have seen that he is a good powerful target man, just what Rico wants.
I dont think the wages would be too high based on were Macclesfield finished last season, they will not be paying one player loads they may look for several for his "high wage".
Although should we not be lookin for someone younger?
Think Macclesfield will finish just below mid table.

Obviously we're looking for a target guy for Ward to play off ... and Fletch is def in that mould, but have a look at his stats for last year ... http://www.afcb.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Squad...24~8916,00.html
Not exactly prolific ... again, I'd wonder about bringing in somone who, no doubt, could do a job ... but is maybe well past their prime!!

Club captain, fans favouirte ... you don't get rid unless you know he ain't up to it. League Two is lower, so maybe he has it in him ... but I'd see it as a waste of a wage ... he may do the business at Macc ... but I thik there are better options available.

He'd be a class player for us. He is big powerful and not at all bad with the ball. He has a massive physical presence and is just what we'd need.

He's also 35 and has had his fair share of injuries! I know anyone can get injured first game of season ... but I couldn't see this guy lasting the whole year. I'd rather we had someone a bit more mobile. I'm sure he will do a job in League Two, but I'm just not convinced he's what we'd need to mount a challenge. Could very easily be wrong though. :D

I'm sure he does Ash ... thing is, with our budget and our general lack of appeal as a club, we're gonna be limited in who we target. Would you really pin our hopes on an aged, 35 year old target man who didn't score many at all last year? 3 or 4 years ago ... would he have been great, yes. Now, I don't think so! A target man setting up Ward, yes absolutely ... but is that man Fletch? I hope not! If he does come and does great, fantastic, I'll happily eat as much humble pie as I can force into me ... but I'd have huge reservations if him, or Fortune-West, or Furlong signed ... it's not a step forward.

Someone's pulling your leg. Mainwaring's too big a name for us....

At any rate, be careful with all this idle talk. Don't go luring Percy Sugden back from the Burberry board...
