At no point did he decry the women’s game, himself stating he was very impressed with the standards and how it had progressed in recent years he just said that maybe women who hadn’t played in front of thousands of partisan fans in huge international games maybe weren’t the best to describe reactions in those games. Similarly to David “Bumble” Lloyd suggesting that in the Lancashire leagues it could be hard for certain Asian players to integrate into local cricket life because they didn’t drink alcohol and thus weren’t as likely to participate in many events held in the cricket clubs bar and club house.
He’s done.

I've no doubt someone will take it out of all proportion and demand he retract what he's said. As Jimmy Greaves used to say, "it's a funny old game" 😉.

Bit slow by your standards, expected the trolling to start much earlier. Good player, poor manager, ever poorer man.

When he was Fulham manager and they played here , he apparently stayed ages after the game signing autographs and having pics taken.
My wife and I went to Chester races with my uncle as a wedding present in 2000, when his wife’s horse, FunFair wain ran in, and won, the big race. He chatted to everyone and signed autographs without any issues in the parade ring before hand. Came across as one hell of a decent bloke.

Couple of friends who are Geordie fans who are less enamoured... guess we all see or hear different things.

I guess much more pressure as Newcastle manager than meeting a few race goers at Chester.

When he was a lad playing for Liverpool at Bramall Lane, he signed a some autographs and me and another youth were at the end of the queue and he said he had to go before he got to us. We were both miffed and I was even more miffed when he said players should always make time for the fans, signing autographs, etc. when he was Newcastle manager. Still not forgiven him.

Good to see you're fully behind former England captains expressing opinions.
I'm sure Garys Lineker and Neville will breath a huge sigh of relief.
But no one who's never played at the highest level can properly commentate on those that do?
Blimey - bang goes the career of pretty much every sports journalist in the world...

No, Neville’s a hypercrite. And Keegan was mentioning PLAYING in front of that atmosphere, something all journalists couldn’t comment on.
