Anybody ever heard of the young Southampton midfielder we are supposed to be BUYING according to yesterdays paper? Been on loan at Torquay apparantly.
As a fee is involved probably rubbish anyway

kyle critchell it is. not played in saints 1st team. missed most of last season with cruciate knee injury. been on loan at torquay, 6 app + 3 subs. 20yrs old in jan. listed by southampton as defender, usually used as left back (app prefers r/back & has been used in midfield), so could be replacement for nicholson.
£25000 quoted as transfer fee.

not wanting to read anything into this but, I wonder if Kyle's coming in to replace Downes, who may be off to new pastures, I have heard several clubs are watching him, certainly a championship club!

I hope Downes isn't off, apart from sponsoring his shirt and him being one of my faves, he's been the best player in defence quite often.

Must admit dunna know anything about the southampton player but Luke Rodgers is up for sale at Crewe. He has aways been a decent enough striker at lower level even though he has a bit of a bad disciplinary record. Crewe do however want about 30K for him.

And doubtless he'll selfishly be looking for a bit more than the thirty bob a week wages he'd get with us...
"and a pair of those Geoff Mitchell glasses, please."

Not only that, surely we want another forward with a bit of height especially if Caleb goes.

Why a defender? If downes doesn't go, then we have enough defenders, don't we? Wouldn't a striker or right midfielder be a better option, seen as Hursty may be going at the end of his loan.
