Tony played as a left back in the mid 60s before joining Worksop Town.
He continued to support the club throughout his lifetime and was a well known traveller to away games with the Bridge Inn along with his wife Maureen.
RIP Tony and sincere condolences to Maureen, family and friends.

Always known as our first apprentice, he was unfortunate that the man retaining the left back spot was the ever reliable Gerry Sears. I used stand near him on the old Kop, was good to see an ex player as such a loyal fan.
Sad news and condolences to his friends and family.

Went to school with Tony but not seen or spoken with him since. His sister regularly attends games sitting in The South Stand. May I pass on my sincere condolences to the family.

RIP Tony. A true Spireite, a gentleman. A former player, season ticket holder, following CFC home & away.
A true friend and neighbour who will be sadly missed.
Condolences to Maureen, Chris, Josh and Georgia.
RIP my friend, gone to soon.

Really sad news. As others have said, Tony was a genuine and first class guy.

Always had time for a chat be it in the West Stand or a Bridge trip. Tony you represented the Spireites so well when chatting about your beloved team.
RIP

RIP Tony and God Bless and Comfort His family. He was a cracking fullback and he was a True Blue. Had many a chat with him at away matches, shopping and in the street. What a great bloke he was.

Could someone please post details of the funeral, too?
I'd like to pay my respects even if from afar.
Thoughts with Maureen and the Hallam family - Chris.
