Chris Young, known to all his friends as 'Gloobs', sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning. He was a lifelong Spireite, a member of the SIFA Committee back in the day and one of the original committee members of the Bridge Inn Blues Away Travel.

We would like to send our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this extremely sad time, RIP Gloobs.

Good old Gloobs, RIP mate.

Seeing Gloobs dressed as a French Maid prior to Peterborough away, (last match of the season away 84 85) will remain in my memory for ever!

RIP Chris, you can join the Spireites in Heaven group, just not as a French Maid!!!

Does anyone have a picture, I only really know faces but I feel sure I would recognise him. RIP fellow Spireite.

For those of you who didn’t recognise the name, here you go, though you might not recognise him in a suit.

RIP Chris , aswell as at football I always remember seeing him up at the Royal Hospital on the Kidney dialysis wing where my late dad used to have to go 3 times a week , many times after the 4 hour stint on the dialysis machine both Chris and my dad would be sat talking everything CFC related!! RIP.

My abiding memory of Gloobs will be seeing 'that' hat slowly making it's way through a crowded Rutland and only realising who was under it when he emerged onto the higher level.

But don't let being a character take away from Gloobs' intelligence, always terrific company with well considered opinions.

Another of the good 'uns taken far too soon.

Always loved the "I could have put that in with me k..." quote....and the time he went for a number two against Leyton Orientl behind the kop at 1-1 around 2001, by the time he got back we were winning 4-1 and he'd only been gone about 5 minutes
