RIP Kevin Randall, 97 will always be the greatest time in CFC history, played against him nearly 30 years ago in a charity pre season event , where I got a shiner off Ernie from an elbow ( badge of honour off a legend), I’m not sure who they turned out for but I’m sure they both played Sunday league for someone in their forties
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Has there been a better forward partnership than Kevin and Ernie in that 69-70 season? Although the football in the final Paul Cook season was sublime, the attacking threat that the 69-70 side remains, for me, our finest.
RIP Kevin Randall, a true star and legend at our club.

Gutted. My boyhood hero. Most of my school books were adorned with his name: The Mighty Kevin. When he arrived they said he was ‘a youngster who showed quite a bit of promise’. Kev turned out to be one of Town’s greatest players. Never has a cry of ‘give it to Randall, been so apt. A goal maker and goal scorer. I once saw him surround by three defenders a foot away from the goal line. With a def touch he sent them all the wrong way, went on the outside and crossed for Ernie to score. That single piece of football magic is forever embedded in my mind. Thanks for some great memories Kevin, you brightened up my life. For those youngsters who never saw him, you don’t what you missed.

So sad. A wonderful footballer. As a schoolboy my friends an I would position ourselves on the Compton Street side at Saltergate to look at him beat a hapless defender, then again and again before the pin point cross went in. The Kevin Randall Supporters Bar as a lasting tribute?

Such a shame that Kev’s time was before the regular capture of video of matches. Imagine if there was a showreel of his highlights.

RIP Kevin, remember him scoring past Gordon Banks in the FA Cup at Stoke.Used to go in his shop all those years ago and chat to his lovely wife. Bumped into him in Salford a few years ago and as ever he wanted a chat.
Remember the bloke in the stand with the bell "Ge it to Randall"
Sad to lose another real Town legend.Bet you are chatting to Jimmy McGuigan up there.

RIP King Kevin thanks for the great memories especially when I was a schoolboy waiting most afternoons in the Club car park for his autograph. He also had the greatest football chant ever, NA NA NA NA KEVIN RANDALL. God Bless and comfort his Family.

Would be a fitting tribute as he loved his ale!
