A fine number 6 for many a long day. I think it may have been Albert who became a policeman after retiring from playing. He was, indeed, at the Memorial Garden event last year. Now, his name will join the others there. RIP.

I saw Albert's debut and he became one of my favourite players during the sixties, always solid and dependable, a true professional, and a very nice man whose exploits at Saltergate will long be remembered by all who had the privilege of seeing him play. Sincere condolences to Albert's family. RIP.

I first saw Albert play in his first season here, another one of those dependable players who was always consistent and who you thought would play for Town "forever" along with Sears,Holmes,Clarke etc. R.I.P Albert and thanks for the memories.

Albert was one of those players who just got better season after season. 71 is bit too young for my liking- RIP Albert.

RIP Albert

I think steady must have been his middle name

Nothing flash he wouldnt try anything he wasnt capable of doing in a match 7 or 8 out of 10 per match

What we could do with that consistency now

Thats sad news. Sound player, Albert Phelan. I last saw him play at Matlock when he was at Boston with Ken Tiler and Jim Kabia. I know they were very fond of him there too. Condolences to his family, and thanks Albert.
