I can't see us reaching the 2nd round, never mind the 3rd. Out of all the teams we end up with one of the highest placed.

Good thing is though, when Me 'n' 'Er go Christmas shopping, it tends to be pub-shop-pub-shop pub.....
Tranmere? The FA Cup curse continues but at least we won't be embarrassed by a non-league outfit this year.

Don't worry our magnificent home form will see us through. Oh, I see your point.

Why not? In 1997 if I am not wrong we played Bury in first round and they were the highest placed team we could play were they not? Please correct me if I'm wrong

Bury were top of the basement and Mark Williams scored the winner iirc.
I believe Bolton were champs of the championship (or whatever it was called then) aswell.

I think based on current form, we don't stand a chance and Tranmere are going well! However, if we play how we did at the beginning of the season, I honestly don't see why we can't win it.

I home draw means another match to watch. A "better" team means that we might see a game where our footballing skills can flourish rather than looking impotent against a ten man defence.

Playing a team from "a higher level" nothing to lose, everything to gain, so whats the problem? Better than having the cup jitters against a non-league outfit.

Unless we're talking about Chesterfield FC, of course.
Perhaps our resident Historian (ayup Stu) can prove me wrong, but i'm pretty sure we must have the worst record in this competition of any of the established league clubs.
Anyway, Tranmere at home is, perhaps, better than a higher placed southern club away, however when we consider the non-league sides we might've drawn - as our little yellow neighbours seem to get most seasons - it's a tough tie to say the least.
I'll be at the game hoping for the best, but, as i've come to accept over the years, LR and the boys are not only playing a club in a superior position but are battling forces beyond our comprehension. My guess is that, no matter how well we play, events will conspire against us.
Please revist this post at 5.30 pm on the 10th November and see if i'm right.
