After all the snagging off of Saunders over the last few weeks, everybody seems to have stopped moaning about Saunders. Has an away win at bottom of the league Crewe suddenly gained him forgiveness from everyone forbade last few weeks? If we lose again this week, will everyone suddenly call for his head?

I haven't stopped calling for him to go!

Didn't you see any of the earlier games ? Its the loss of Angel and fitness issues, especially affecting RB position, that has seen form plummet. Its too early to judge Saunders, who wants to bring in another 2 players. So let's see what happens this month.

I'm still far from convinced. Just don't like moaning all the time.

Stop waving your willy about. Not a single person has given the impression that we love him and all is forgiven after Crewe. The jury's very much still out for the vast majority of people.

I'm relatively confident that he isn't the manager for us but I'm not gonna complain about him after a win.

Haven't you noticed that hardly anybody else is daft enough to judge a manager after such a short time?

We are all disappointed with what happened in September but it looks like DS is trying to address the problems by replacing Angel and signing another player, possibly a RB? If he chooses wisely there's no reason why we can't go on a good run again, like we had at the start of the season. As for the signings he has made (O'Neil and Herd) they have hardly bowled us over but it's too early to say they won't come good when fully fit or playing in preferred positions.

Herd showed signs on Saturday of being useful when he has more game time under his belt. 90 minutes for him tonight.

I think we've become spoilt with a successful recent period (5 or so years) with winning the league twice, a couple of Wembley visits and making the play offs in Div 1. Plus some entertaining football under Sheridan and Cook that was pleasing on the eye. Its a great recipe: entertaining and successful football!

It would always be difficult for someone to follow on from Paul Cook, particularly after the sale of some of our better players who can be (and have proved to be) difficult to replace like-for-like. What didn't help Saunders was the fact he appeared to be appointed without other applicants being seriously considered, which with his indifferent track record, didn't help to win the hearts and minds of the average fan. I do think Saunders has been unlucky with losing players in terms of transfers and due to injuries. Relatively speaking, Cook didn't encounter these issues. On arrival Saunders delayed in signing players stating he wanted higher calibre players and, to be fair, I think the vast majority thought that Novak/Herd/SEB would move the team in the right direction. So far this hasn't been the case and these new signings haven't lived up to expectation. Add to this the football isn't pretty to watch and the alarming trait of conceding goals very early and/or at the vinegar strokes of the 90th minute, it isn't surprising the fan base isn't happy. The new recipe is less entertaining and less successful football!

Personally, I hope Saunders is given longer. I do wonder how many of those who want him sacked would sneer at another team who sacked their manager after just 11 games in charge and lying mid-table?!?

He'll get the season, with the hope of guiding us to 15th-18th at worst.

The op reminds me of "the frog and peach" sketch by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore from 1974.

PC - Do you remember the 2nd world war?

DM - Certainly, yes.

PC - Ghastly business.

DM - Oh yes.

PC - Absolutely ghastly business.

DM - Yes indeed.

PC - I was completely against it.

DM - Well I think we all were.

PC - Ah yes BUT I WROTE A LETTER!

Don't know about yourself but before Saturdays win the majority of posts on here were slagging him and Allen off, what I'm saying is they have suddenly stopped after beating bottom of the table crewe. If we lose tonight and against Gillingham the majority will be at it again, I predict! Hopefully by Saturday evening we will have another 6 points and I will have egg on my face!
