I'm sure if they belonged to us the supporters we'd keep them for our lifetime.
They are now appearing fairly regularly.
I was lucky enough a few years ago to spot an Anglo Scottish Cup Winners Tankard on ebay belonging to a former Chesterfield player.
Amazingly I was the only bidder and got it at the starting bid of £200.

Stuff like this makes seeing today's players scoring a goal and poncing about kissing the club badge even more gauling. Whether we want to believe it or not, these 'heroes' care very little for the club they represent. It's a job, whether they play at Chesterfield, Hartlepool, Colchester and so on, as long as they are getting the best deal possible, they don't care.
I fully understand it's a job, it just gets right under my skin when they are banging the chest and kissing the badge. Patronising behaviour of the highest order.

Selling it wouldn't diminish the feat or the players memories.
Usain Bolt has given all his away for example

but usain bolt can get more. whoever won this its probably all they won in the professional game.
in the blurb it does say its unengraved so perhaps its a 'spare'

Ah right. So I would imagine the original holder sold for less, really, why?

Of course , and I realise that to some folk money like that may be important, but you must really be on hard times to sell your history for such a small amount.
