Why would we want a party that is so far right they make the Tories look like commies?

as a socialist, are you happy being ruled from the EU by decree, and having the working mans standards of living exploited by big business by using "cheaper" foreign labour?

Meanwhile Labour's Shadow Attorney General quits after appearing to mock a house flying the flag of St George, they don't do themselves any favours do they. Even a half strong Labour party would walk the next election without campaigning due to the backlash against Tory austerity yet they seem determined to wind people up and try to throw it away.
I don't think the main parties realise that all this time spent sledging UKIP and trying to brand everyone who supports UKIP as racist is sending more voters UKIP's way and making them stronger. It just looks like the big established parties are bullying the newcomer for having the audacity to stand up to them. I mean a senior Labour politician insinuating that anyone who flies the St George's flag is a UKIP supporter and therefore a racist, that certainly won't go down well amongst the working class and gives UKIP even more ammunition to play with.
It's time our major parties stopped sledging Farage and focussed on their own politics which so many people are disenchanted with, that's the only way they will get rid of fringe parties like UKIP, when they offer a serious enough agenda to get the disenchanted back on side.
We're screwed whichever way this election goes
it shows just how far the labour party now is from the ordinary man in the street

Not at all. However I prefer this to the country being ran by a neo Nazi party that only tells the public what the public want to hear by playing the fear and racist cards. What is it's stance on the NHS,the welfare state and all the other things that affect all our lives? Good job they will never run the country. Its rainy outside could this be the fault of the gay community? No? Well the storms of last year were according to one of their members.

And anyone who flies the St George's flag is a UKIP supporter and so by proxy a racist according to one of our so called socialist politicians. There is no party worthy of running this country as it stands

but your missing the whole point of UKIP support. Its not that people want UKIP, its what they don't want, and the EU, and the stale, dull political set in Westminster is all of that. As I have said before, UKIP is the vehicle to force change at Westminster, not the party to rule Westminster.
Use them to give the big 2 (the lib dems are finished and will be the 4th party in parliament behind UKIP) a B****Y nose and force change.

Another take on the "cheap" labour point: https://twitter.com/...408438080045057
UKIP is clearly making the political weather at the moment. They've managed to convince everyone they're the only ones talking about immigration when you can't get Ed Miliband and the Large-Faced One to shut up about it at the minute! Another point to prove how successful they're being is that their candidate gets away with mistakenly trotting out the BNP's immigration stance whereas a Labour MP loses her job for sending a patronising tweet.

may I refer you to post 77?
To speak of the EU only in terms of immigrations is deliberately clouding the whole issue.

Yeah it's interesting but long - I'll respond when I've got a bit more time. For now, I agree that immigration is clouding the issue in the way that UKIP would deliberately like it to be clouded. They conflate immigration with the EU because that's the part - free movement - that most people don't like. If you had an honest debate with most people about the rest of what the EU does then I don't think we'd have the same level of disapproval.

I am proud to be English and have no issue with anyone taking pride in displaying a flag of St George. However, the house in question had 3 English flags draped outside his windows that have been outside in all weathers and actually now look quite tatty.
If I’m being honest I’d be annoyed if I lived next to the house in question.
Emily Thornberry’s biggest mistake was adding the words “Image from Rochester” which kind of alludes to that being typical of a working class white man which is in reality is clearly not the case.

I think they would, if they actually understood what the corrupt, politically self serving organisation was all about.
Its not just UKIP using immigration to cloud the EU debate. UKIP use it as its something many people feel strongly about, the political elite use it to stifle any dissent
Its worth noting that UKIP was formed immediately following the Maastricht treaty. Way way before the free movement of people within the EU, so to brand their political motivation as anti immigration is at best Lazy, and at worst the same as the PC lot branding any debate on immigration as racist - its totalitarian.
You could make a case for leaving the EU, without even mentioning immigration.

it conveys how the new political university educated "left" elite view the working man. So called socialists poring scorn on the working man.

Their political motivation is to leave the EU. Their political tactic is to play up the immigration issue.
Are you sure that free movement arrived after the Maastricht treaty? I genuinely didn't know so I just googled and this seems to suggest it's been around for longer: http://en.m.wikipedi...ent_for_workers

Nothing at all, although I don't have one ive promised myself and family that on my 50th I will have the album cover of Queen2 done as a present to myself, but if you look at said home owner, with his sleeves rolled up on a cold November morning, yes I agree it's warmer down south, then you might get the drift.
