Champions always find a way but the state of the pitch isn't helping #Cookball.

Time to get rid of SUFC juniors ASAP IMO.

Not surprising given the weather and the fact we have played 5 league games on it in 27 days. At least we don’t play on it for 2 weeks, and the game after that is another 2 weeks later. By March the grass will be growing again

What about the Sheff Utd U 21’s games to be played on it?
The pitch isn’t getting the required recovery time, shocking decision to allow them to play on it.
Please don’t make the same mistake again for next season.

You cough up the amount they pay to play there and I am sure it will be ended.

So you think the pitch hasn’t suffered by letting Sheff Utd U 21’s play on it?
I have had a break and now I am back if that’s alright with you.

It’s January. Without artificial lights blazing on it it’s not going to do much growing. the weather will have really taken its toll on it.
We have to be realistic and accept that we need the money from the U21s.
We are nearly 20 points clear so if the only thing we can find to worry about is the pitch not being a carpet in the middle of winter I think we’ll be ok

Would be interesting to hear the manager’s views on the pitch.

We have heat lamps, why aren’t we using them then?

Wasn't that an agreement made by Mr. Dee Dar Carson and he contracted us to it until the end of this season if I'm not mistaken?
The sooner we're free of it the better in my opinion. By the way did anyone see him on the Brinks Mat blood money gold bullion robbery documentry on TV the other night? I almost threw up in my living room when he came up on my 60 inch screen!

Pretty sure that agreement ended last summer and this seasons agreement was certainly by the new board.

Although given the state of the accounts you can understand why.

Hopefully, it put us in good stead allowing for the signing of Freckleton though.

Thought that was cancelled and then resumed. Not sure the pitch is that bad just threadbare and unsightly and the ball doesn’t seem to bobble that much. Whatever, we can’t blame Rowe for training on it this season.

According to their website, SU under 21s have played at CFC only 4 times since the end of September.
9th Oct; 7th Nov, 17th Nov; 11th Dec.

Also it has been covered by frost covers most of the time prior to Leyton game and the same for Altrincham. Surely that doesn’t help.

They are scheduled to play on the 5th & 13th of February at the SMH group stadium.
Keeping the pitch unused for those two dates would help the pitch recover a bit.
It’s no coincidence they have scheduled the 2 games for those dates as February is a bad month for pitches coming to the rear end of winter.

See my edited post above, the full ravages of winter hadn’t taken hold by November & December.

No but anyone with a 2024 Spireite calender will see him on the September page.

I am sure a pitch is better if never played or trained on... however, given we dont have endless funds and we have to try and get as much income as we can, if we stop that we have to get it elsewhere... so as I said, what are you suggesting to replace it? It may also have been part of the deal that brought Freckleton in...so judge the whole package of deal not one part of it...

feel free, as long as we can keep up with which user name you are using this time. Why anyone would want or need multiple user names is beyond me....
