The season they got promoted into the NCEL they were paying wages, good amounts too. At one point they had the Shirebrook captain playing for them on a dual registration.

Surely time to pack in if you end up at Clay Cross. And before anyone has a dig it?s my old stomping ground.
I?d say if they still love playing the game and being involved why not ?
Theres far too many footballing mercenaries these days just in it for the money
You are a very long time retired so I say good luck to em

It was only meant as a tongue in cheek comment, I?ve known a few turn out for Clay Cross over the years, they?ve come a long way from Parkhouse

They'll be playing in the United Counties Division One next season as will Staveley (both moving from the NCEL)

Clay Cross have never paid players before and doubt with attendances of around 100 at 5 quid entry plus they played most of the season at Shirebrook due to flooding can't see that they would have resources to pay wages ?
They appear to have investment, spending money on the pitch for the first time and currently building brand new changing rooms.

They are now in the process of forming a new Sunday league side for next season, advertising for a manager

They got a grassroots grant to pay for the ground improvements I'm told
