Thanks gents. Any suggestions on trainers without spending a small fortune?
Boring answer but try and go to a proper running shop and try a bunch on. Most running shops will also do a free gait analysis if you're buying shoes so you ge the right type as well.
I'm currently loving Saucony for both training and racing but have had a few pairs of Nike Pegs in the past and they are always solid.
https://www.runningshoesguru.com/ is a great resource when looking for shoes. Some great sales on at the minute so a good time to look.

Yep it’s def all personal choice.
You tried Hokas?
The Hoka Rocket X 2 might be my next racing shoe! It gets great reviews.
