If we are selling Wardy to the dee dahs its to be hoped we get at least the 400k agreed with Barnsley. We don't want anymore of their cast offs, we have enough with Sellars and Boden.l

His finishing and goals to shots ratio has improved dramatically this season otherwise last season and early this I was comparing him to Larkin as a finisher. I think he's picked up some tips from Jack. He looks more and more the part. Championship I don't know but time will tell.

Dont get me wrong i'm not dissing Ward at all, I'd love nothing more for him to sign a new deal & stay. He's improved tons since signing for us & your right playing & training with Jack has gotta have
summat to do with that. But all i was saying is some strikers are natural finishers like Sharp seemed to be at this level & i dont think anyone on here can say that Ward looks like a natural finisher.
STAY CLASSY CHESTERFIELD!

I've just had a text from a blade who reckons that Ward is off to Sheff U next week on £10k pw as they look to re-organise their front line if/when Beattie signs for Stoke/Hull?

I could see why they'd want him, but is there anything evidential behind your friend's reckoning, or is it another indulgent rumour?

Baz, no concrete evidence at all.

I can say is that he's a Blade's season ticket holder and is not normally one to send scurrilous rumours around.

Ernir; I forgot Kerry who has been garbage for the past couple of months, although he always puts plenty of effort in.

Why would anyone want a text from a Blade?

15% sell-on fee seems a tad measly.

Good.

We don't need a player with his mind set elsewhere.

Certainly not in the same league as Torquay negotiated when Ward came here. If its been reported accurately, they'll be taking a whopping 25% of the entire £400k fee, rather than a cut of the profit.

In a world where the pace of change can be quite scary at times, how reassuring it is to see that whether selling or buying, negotiating with CFC is still the same old doddle...

A post from Phil Tooley confirmed it was on profit only.
A new hope.

Thanks for the update.

I thought it was Hubbard who'd stated they'd be taking a quarter of the incoming fee.

Our Chairman making comments on important matters only for them to turn out to be complete tripe? Surely not...
