Another 4 point deduction for the start of next season for failing to provide proof of funds for next season

That's -8 they start on with another deduction suspended, should they pay players late again.

They'll do well to avoid relegation to L2 at this rate!

Talking of League 1, I can see Fleetwood going to the wall now that the owner is going to jail. Completely unsustainable club without his millions.

Not seen this before- good spot.
His millions seemingly all ill gotten gains from his defrauded customers - including charities.
Last accounts of the club show it owed £24M to its parent company - presumably his fraudulent trading business.
Not sure I can see how the football club survives this.

The guy is scum of the earth. Absolute scandalous how he defrauded charities for the vulnerable.

Never realised he was been jailed. Surely they will start to tumble down the leagues now. Alot of there support was from disgruntled blackpool fans and surely it will wane now due to blackpool been under new owners. Same for flyde

He’s remanded in custody, awaiting sentencing in July. Hopefully should be a long stretch.

Hopefully. These along with Salford, Forest Green, Crawley, Morecambe do not deserve to be in the EFL.

Sorry but those teams won promotion so have every right to be there and morecambe were not backed by rich owners like salford when they got promoted

I recently read ‘On the Brink’ by Simon Hughes, which is an excellent account of the situation at various north-western clubs in 2017ish. Blackpool were being boycotted and Fleetwood and Fylde rose on the back of monied owners who’d turned their backs on the Tangerines. The Fylde owner comes across as a right-wing dick but I suppose at that point the dodginess of the Fleetwood owner was as yet unknown. Well worth a read but I agree that now the Blackpool fans have their club back, it doesn’t bode well for Fylde or Fleetwood.
These go to eleven.

Fleetwood have never had the biggest gates in league one and as you say now blackpool are better ran they will drop further. Not sure where flyde will get the fans from too

As regards Fleetwood Fylde won’t have any effect I’d wager, Fleetwood will carry on I suspect.
God I hate this league.

They may carry on but they only got where they have due to massive funding by the bloke getting banged up for how he got the millions he’s shoved in. Can they sustain where they’ve got to without the funding. I’ve not checked but I don’t think they get massive crowds. The guy only put the money in due to a falling out trying to buy Blackpool.

Exactly. I suppose fleetwood wont go bust if no debts have been left by last owner but doubt they can keep going in league one unless someone else comes in with millions

No debts- ha!
See my post above. Fleetwood’s last accounts filed show they owe £24M to one of Piley’s businesses. Any appointed Liquidator of that operation will want as much of that back as can be reasonably recovered.

Assuming no cash in the bank, is the ground/land owned by the club? That’s about all they have of value surely. Much call for building land that way?
