I wonder about him, we offered him a deal in a higher league something a player jump at, yet he seems quite happy to talk to Darlo and chester at a level he knows he can score? maybe i'm wrong but you have to wonder about his ambitions and whether he's happy just to turn out and collect the money.

Do you not consider money as a key factor in your job?

I think job satisfaction comes into it too and if he's happy plodding along at a lower division 'cos of a few more pounds a week then let him go there. Wherever there is! I'm only interested in players who want to play for Chesterfield.

So long as they are committed whoever they are when they have signed, I don't blame anyone in any walk of life for trying to get the best deal they can for themselves and their families etc

Most of us when we change jobs in tends to be in the same area with the majority of footballers it's a total change of location, upheaval of families, changes in schools, house price differentials etc etc Whislt we may do it every so often some footballers have to do it every few years

Oh well. I'm sure that Roy has plenty more irons in the fire. Sounds promising for the start of next week anyway.

I have seen Larkin a few times and he is quick and looks very good on one on ones with the keeper. I understand that Carlton Palmer doesn't rate him which after all is probably a complement.

I think he could do a good job for us but it looks like we have missed out, never mind though there are plenty of other fish in teh sea.

Carlton Palmer didn't rate Glynn Hurst either as I recall! Left him playing in the reserves until we rescued him.

Good point - that played a part in Paul Hall's decision.
