But we've a tory party desperate for summat to shout about to in some way slow their slide towards oblivion, alongside contributors who've spent five or more years championing them and a supposedly successful Brexit.

As for the LD's, yeah, I find their stance on Europe and a fair percentage of what the Greens are saying quite appealing. However I'm hoping we'll see something along the lines of what New Labour did in '97.
Win a majority by appealing to the centre ground, apply strict financial constraints to stabilise the economy (they were often criticised for paralleling Major's policies), then pursue a more socialist agenda when growth allowed.
Oh, and as said, re-align with the EU over a period of time...

I?m still scarred by the sight of William Hague at he Tory conference many many years ago! -

The paradox is that the country is about to elect potentially the worst government in modern times with potentially the biggest majority in modern times.
It?s even starting to unravel before they?ve got the keys to No10. -

You weren?t worried about lying when Bozza was in charge matey but if you?re starting now, fair play. It?s never too late
I?d have a Boris led Tory government over the lot of the new incomings at No10 every day of the week and twice on Sundays. And I think after a few short moths the majority of floating voters will feel the same.
