Judging by the transfer market so far who do we fear in our league this season .personally I don't think anybody will run away with the league and I think we will hold our own against the championship relegated teams.so me still optimistic for at least a top ten finish.any thoughts?

Far too early to even guess. We lost last season to Championship teams such as Leeds and Derby, have sold 3 of our best players (Doyle, Roberts, Ryan), with only one, as yet untried replacement (SEB). We are therefore much weaker than we were, and it's possible that more good players will leave, with all the indications that there is no spare cash to adequately replace them. I'd class your outlook as wishful thinking rather than optimism at the moment.

I see your point but nobody seems to be spending to much at moment so hopefully if the young lads surprise us maybe we will be ok I suppose we will see soon.

The key, if last season is anything to go by, will be top level loan signings, probably by the likes of Sheffield United, Swindon, Scunthorpe, Millwall and, even the way they are recruiting, Bury.

Agree - as demonstrated by Beckford in the playoffs last season.

If it's far too early to guess, why do do. You used to be a fairly sensible poster but are now far too negative. 'No spare cash to adequately replace them' is a joke. Replace players who haven't left and may well not leave? What a fine reason for negativity. I bet you're the person who wears a Mac on the hottest and sunniest day of the century because it might rain later

Your writing off our really ambitious signing as untried is the best joke on here all week. Two time championship top scorer, regular twenty goal a season million pound striker untried??? Really??? Well, I suppose he is in that he has yet to play a league game for us, but the same could be said about every new signing, ever.

We have lost two players from a squad that got into the play offs last season and signed one (a top striker) with more to come. There is every reason to be optimistic for the coming season but, hey, why let the facts interrupt your sulking.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think Sheffield United will be too strong this season.

Sheffield United, Wigan and Millwall (in no particular order)

Agree about the loan signings being important, as they clearly were last year.

Regular 20 goal a season striker? I think you will find that he has done it twice, the last time 7 seasons ago. Might explain why he was available for free to sign for us and not still fetching a million pound.

Not writing him off, definitely worth a punt, but lets not turn hope into 'facts'. Moreover I suspect if he does succeed for us, he will have an option in his favour to jump ship, for not a lot of money, sooner rather than later to a club higher up the ladder.

Im not sure that fear is the right word but There are a lot of teams in this league who will do well. I reckon if we can get a few good results early on it will shape the course of the season If we lose a lot of the first ten games the fans will start to get frustrated. I think there are realistically ten teams that will have a good season. I would say that 10th would be a good season with the squad we have, but maybe Saunders could just have a suprise for us (did say maybe) which could alter the dynamics of the squad.

Forgive me - who have they signed as a top level player?

Lol I just love the fact that the moment a poster shows a bit of negativity they stop being a sensible poster in your eyes. Seriously , showing a bit of worry or questioning the club on a few occasions doesn't make you a bad supporter. Just because you bend over and take whatever the club smash you with doesn't mean everybody else should.

Yes, I will, because I can't see where I have said they have. They have, however, paid fees for at least three players, and I was pointing out that, as the owner seems happy to throw his cash at the club, they are one of the likely teams to make that all important quality loan signing.

When did he last score 20 goals? In fact in how many seasons has he ever scored 20 goals?

A good signing if fit, but here we have you slating a bloke for being negative, while your making stuff up to bolster your position, but then say "why let facts interrupt your sulking"?
