Now we're back in the league I feel pretty relaxed about it all re: signings.
Last season it all felt like its now or never. This time I'd not been waiting in anticipation for the retained list, nor will I be the same on incomings/outgoings.
The Cook/kirks effect has plenty to do with that. There is just a sense of calm in the air, there's progress off the pitch and things will happen when they do on it and I'm sure cook will get the players in that will do enough to at least put in a solid campaign of consolidation.
Feels odd but I'm actually at ease with it all - probably for the first time I can remember really.
Well said.
For too many years our club was the victim of some questionable recruitment. By contrast, since Paul Cook came back to the club and the Kirks became involved, we've seen a refreshingly different and measured approach to signing new players and retaining existing ones. Long may it continue.
I think our recruitment will be very similar to last season and I look forward to seeing who we bring in and in which positions. -

JK was a class above most the squad when he arrived
But Cook's evolved that squad to whole new levels.
He can leave with head held high in the knowledge he'll easily find a top NL outfit...
Correct decision for the club but more importantly in this instance, correct decision for Jeff.
At times this season, it looked to me like he was struggling with confidence and the only way he'll overcome that is by starting games on a regular basis. At this stage of his career he needs to be playing and there was no guarantee that was going to be the case next season.
He's been part of two fantastic seasons and it's unfortunate that he's leaving, but that's football.
Good luck, Jeff. -

Just finished listening to it and he gets it.
It pleases me to hear from players like Jamie who are clearly appreciative of being here. We've had too many players pass through the club under previous managers/owners who had no interest in the club or any desire to create something special.
We're fortunate to have Cookie here but we're also fortunate to have players like Jamie.
I'd say it's a must watch for any young professional just starting out in the game or for the minority who still question PC.
