Rowley played better in league one than he has done since.
I wonder if Rowley's problem is Rowley's ego.

If you were to meet him you’d realise what a nice young fella he is with no ego whatsoever. Let’s not start these ego rumours which can gather momentum and result in a player being wrongly labelled.

I'm not saying that it's a definite (hence the "I wonder") but for some reason Rowley looked like he could be our next big thing when he first came through and now he hardly stands out in Conference football.

Rowley needs someone steady around him, Morsey was good, but he was even better when Jimmy Ryan was beside him!

I would be really pleased with Biden- I thought he was under-rated when here.

I think probably falls into the category of under-loved former strikers (including Armand, Doyle, Clarke etc.) who were good enough for league 1 or 2, but just were not as good as sir jack

irrelevant, as players can still leave league clubs to sign for non-league after the league window closes.

We may well get signings once the window closes and league clubs know what they've got and who is surplus or needs game time.

EFL players can only be signed by us if they negotiate their release from their club.

I think he is referring to loans who can sign anytime

I assume you mean before the window closes?

Nothing to stop us getting players on loan, after the window closes.

If memory serves me correctly, Boden's movement off the ball was pretty good. That quality is exactly what we're lacking right now, so maybe he could be effective playing off Denton if they played together and built up an understanding.

Boden is better than what we have now so will improve the side, and your points regarding movement and playing with Denton are spot on. Fullback positions also need to be looked at.

Agree entirely with all that. Let’s start another rumour, here’s a 17, 18 now 19 year old promising young footballer whose confidence is now shot to pieces playing the last three seasons in a side in free fall with a bunch of has beens and never weres for team mates.

Not playing well allways seems to be put down to 'ego'.ridiculous assumptions.
I remember seeing the lads reaction to our fans singing 'your'e not fit to wear the shirt' in the solihull game i think.he genuinley looked extremely hurt by it.

If we are signing Boden he most definitely improves the squad which is pretty much what Sheridan needs to do. Maybe with Denton and Shaw could just get 20 goals for the team and change the draws to wins good signing for me if true

Why do you have to be such a cock?
All I've done is made a remark that you don't agree with. Waller replied to it without trying to belittle the comment but you feel the need to take it one step further.
It's pathetic.

Can’t see where I was personal, or belittled you; merely challenged your view and gave an alternative standpoint.

When he came here earlier in the season I thought his movement was good. The key for me is still midfield though, they have to change their mindset and be more positive. If boden (or whoever) played up front on their own the midfield need to be more positive with passes and support. If we have two up front we need the same positive play.

Early days yet, but if Shez tells them to be more positive they'll damn well have to do it. I got the impression they were playing deep by order to cover the slow defence, in which case jacking up the defence a bit should lead to a more positive midfield and more penalty box action.
But like I say, early days. I may be reading it totally wrong. One thing's for sure though, we need more pace at LB.

You reckon Obama will come with him, those two are usually a package deal.

Let's remember Scott Boden was Paul Cook's first choice front man immediately after taking over.

And Cook knew a player when he saw one.

Then though he fell down the pecking order when quality was added Boden still snatched a vital goal or two.

The home winner that essentially took us to Wembley last time, for example.

He's not prolific but a 'poacher', a 'fox in the box' perhaps, and I think he'd deliver something we've been lacking since Dennis left.

The best movement I've seen from a forward at Town was Eoin Doyle, and it really clicked when the class midfield behind him took advantage of that.
On the other hand I recall Boden consistently running around a couple of yards behind an opponent who had the ball, as if Boden was tethered to the opponent by an invisible rigid cable, rarely actually challenging- what you might call a 'pseudo-press'. Perhaps his off-the-ball movement when we were in possession was better than I recall but he wasn't the paciest or most mobile.
What Boden could do was finish, and I'm sure that over the years his positional sense has developed- he was very young when with us. I actually think we could use Denton as a static finisher just as well as we could Boden- the problem is that we seem to succumb to the temptation to lump it once Denton is on the pitch.

Wasn't originally a fan of Doyle, bit it clicked when I saw all the runs he made at Elland Rd (which unfortunately we're all too often spotted too late by our other players).

Now, with that I agree.

Shez likes clean sheets. If you get a clean sheet you get one point, at least. Leak goals and you have an uphill battle. And, Shez's first task is to make sure we are not relegated no matter what it takes in terms of style of football.

We have "no scoring forwards" up top but if we can convert that to a couple of "scoring" forwards maybe the opposition won't be so relaxed about releasing men to attack and this might allow our midfield to get further upfield in a controlled way.

Graham Smith is giving the impression that more than one incoming signing is currently being worked on so it could be interesting to see who the others are if Boden is one of them.
